Chief of Security / Communications Officer / Commander Duty Station Honored Warrior
Lady K'Lyssia
Lady K'Lyssia of House Lynsia is my alter-ego and a character I created for a series of Star Trek novels I'm currently working on titled, Oaths of Duty; Vows of Honor / Call of Duty; Demands of Honor / By Duty and Honor Bound.

K'Lyssia is a Klingon/Terran Hybrid born into one of the ancient Klingon Noble Houses - House Lynsia. Her Uncle, K'Lyion, became Leader of the Klingon High Council just before she passed her Rite of Ascension. Upon K'Lyssia's initiation as a warrior, K'Lyion named her as his designated sucessor to lead the council.

However, K'Lyssia was kidnapped from the Empire and her memory blocked by the use of a mindsifter. She was later found adrift in a civilian shuttle in Federation space and eventually adopted by a Terran family. Her adoptive parents gave her the name Kelli Ramsey.

Kelli (K'Lyssia) Ramsey grew up in the Federation, joining Star Fleet and rising to the rank of Commodore. Shortly after the Enterprise returned to Earth, Kelli was placed in temporary command and given an Ambassadorial transport mission.

After the events in
Oaths of Duty, Vows of Honor and its sequel Call of Duty, Demands of Honor, Kelli (K'Lyssia) Ramsey is placed in stasis and found 100 years later. Because of her desire to avoid becoming embroiled in politics again she ends of joining with Clan Q'ong and becomes a member of the IKV Honored Warrior.

While House Lynsia is now a protectorate of House Veska it is a House with a long and Noble heritage.

House Lynsia is one of the oldest of the Klingon Noble Houses. Members of this house trace their ancestry directly to Emperor Kahless.

Lady Lynsia was the youngest daughter of Kahless and Lady Lukara. As strong willed as both her parents, Lynsia was a warrior born. Not willing to play a role as an Imperial Princess, she refused to be used as a marriage tool by the Imperial Court and ran away to found her own family line.

Through succeeding generations House Lynsia remained distant from the Imperial Court, but never completely removed. Many members of the house served as the elite guards for the court and as personal guards for the Emperor.

House Lynsia became more involved in the politics of the Empire after the overthrow of Emperor Rucla' and the installation of a democratic government. The new democracy failed and a new Imperial line was established using the names and houses of the former Imperial Court.

Many of those who assumed these new roles were the illegitimate children of the Imperial Court before its overthrow. Lord K'Lorik, the then head of House Lynsia proposed the creation of the High Council. Seats were given to the heads of the Noble Houses least affected by the overthrow. With the Imperial Court reestablished under the names of those who were killed, the illusion of an unbroken line of sucession was created. The Head of the Imperial House became the Leader of the High Council, but the power remained with the true noble houses. In time the Leadership of the High Council passed from the Imperial House to the strongest of the Noble Houses.

While the designated sucessor of each preceeding council leader has not always sat on the throne of Kahless; it is tradition that the Leader of the High Council must come from one of the Noble Houses. He must prove not only his ties to Kahless, but also his strength, wisdom, skills in battle and honor.

Tradition is very important to many within the Empire and House Lynsia is no exception. But their traditions are sometimes at odds with those of the rest of the Empire. Because the house was founded by a woman, females of House Lynsia are accorded the same respect, priviledges and honor as the males. In several generations a female has been recognized as the head of this Noble House.

In another break from tradition, House Lynsia does not take its name from the preceeding generation or the current head of the house, but from the line founder - Lynsia; Daughter of Kahless.
