Nighthawking is awesome. you don't get to see as much of the flight but it always thrilled me. Make sure you have a good set of eagle bells. I still use my original pair of Pakistani eagle bells. What a tone they have.

My eyas kestrel would fly back to the fist with quarry she was that programmed to eat on the fist. If you ever have the chance to read anything by J.G. Mavrogodato read it devour it. The best hawking books I ever read. Very hard to find though unfortunately. He only wrote two books one on falcons and one on fist hawks. his training methods are so right on...... Never did come up with a hood for owls though they really don't like the pressure on their filo feathers. I never really feel the need for one unless I'm around other birds. GHO's will kill and eat anything... "
