Chapter 13
                                                                        ~~~~~Storm, same time~~~~~
She’d been depressed since Brian told her about AJ.  Right now, it was about six hours before airtime, and she was in her hotel room, crying.  Without so much as a knock, her best friend in the WWF, Sean (X-Pac) walked in and saw her.  “Wanna talk about it?”
At the sound of his voice, she looked up, startled.  She had tried to act natural around everyone else so they wouldn’t suspect anything and ask questions, but when she was alone, she couldn’t keep it in and cried.
He walked over to where she was and sat down beside her.  She felt the urge to tell him everything, but she wasn’t in the mood to talk.  She just wanted to be alone if AJ wasn’t there to hold her.
Sean knew more about her than anyone else in the WWF.  They became close friends quickly after she signed her contract; he was the one that asked the rest of Degeneration-X (a group inside the WWF) if they wanted her as a member. She was good friends with a lot of the wrestlers, which sometimes caused problems for her when her friends had problems with each other.
“Nothing.  I don’t wanna talk about it.”
He sighed, knowing that whatever she’d been crying about was tearing her apart.  “Look, you can tell me.  Who knows?  It might make you feel better.”
Reluctantly, she told him everything that happened between her and AJ, starting with when she first saw AJ on the video set, not leaving out one detail.  She never said AJ; she referred to him as Alex the whole time.  When she finished, she was in tears again; Sean was pissed that anyone could have the nerve to hurt his best friend.  “But if that guy—Brian, or whatever you said his name was—if he was lying, why did you leave?”
She wasn’t sure what to say.  “I don’t know; I just knew he wanted me out of there, so I left.”  Melina started crying all over again, burying her face in Sean’s chest, who wrapped his arms around her.  There was a long, uncomfortable pause before either of them spoke.
“Why don’t you call him?”
She shuddered, confessing her greatest fear; “There’s no telling what Brian’s told him about why I left.  Besides, I don’t think he wants me anymore.”
