Our Policies
General Policies:
We accept only cash, Postal Money Orders (from the post office) or PayPal. See our sales policy for more information.
We can breed a doe that we have for sale to the buyer's buck of choice (from our bucks that are currently breeders) before she leaves. If possible, I like to be able to breed the doe at least 10 days before she leaves, so that I can palpate her and make sure that the breeding took. I know this cannot always happen, but I will still breed the doe for the buyer, if they would like that. If the doe is bred and I cannot palpate her before she leaves, we will not be held responsible if the breeding did not take. We will do our best to make sure the buck breeds the doe several times and will witness the breeding. Typically I do not charge to breed a doe that we have for sale.
I will consider letting another breeder bring their doe to our rabbitry to have her bred to one of our bucks. I have done this a few times with several breeders. I have the right to refuse the doe being bred to one of my bucks, if I feel the doe is unhealthy. I charge a small fee of $10-$15 a breeding or Pick of Litter (POL). If the doe does not take or the litter is born dead, the doe can be re-bred to the same buck or bred to another of our bucks at no cost.
We will not refund money on rabbits that have been sold and have left our rabbitry. We guarantee that all of our rabbits are in good health when they leave us. In the event that a rabbit dies, please contact us with the details of the situation and maybe we can work something out. If a customer cannot keep the rabbit which they bought from us or does not want the rabbit anymore, we would like to be notified and will take the rabbit back, unless there is some unknown circumstance that comes up which would make it so we could not or should not take the rabbit back.
Rabbits which we sell as "proven", meaning they have produced offspring for us, cannot be guaranteed to produce for their new owner. We cannot guarantee this, because there may be circumstances or situations in the new home that would make the rabbit unable to produce (bad feed, poor health, bad environment, etc). If we sell young rabbits and they do not produce for whatever reason, we will not be held responsible for that. You are free to contact us for ideas as to why the breeding may not be producing. Generally speaking, we have never had a problem with rabbits we have sold not producing, to our knowledge.
Transporting Policy:
We transport rabbits in a variety of ways. It must be understood that when we have the rabbits in our possession, they are in good health. Once the rabbits leave our possession and begin their journey (in one of the ways mentioned below) we will no longer be held responsible for their health and safety. If a rabbit arrives in undue health or something happens along the journey of the rabbit to prevent the rabbit from arriving at it's destination, we are not responsible.

We have gotten rabbits from CA to OR, WA, Canada, AZ, IN, TN, NV, TX, NH, and many other places via transports. We have gotten rabbits to CA from OR, WA, Canada, AZ, CO, and other places by using transports. We have found it to be a very easy and reliable way to get rabbits across the country. Sometimes it may take a few weeks or a couple months to find, secure and have the transport work out.
I will help my customer look for transport and give them advice on what to do as well. Sometimes it may take a couple people transporting to get the rabbit to it's final destination. In this case, our customer must realize that they may have to pay a couple people transporting fees. Every person who transports has a different rate of what they charge to do this. We are not responsible for what each individual charges, that is fully upon the person doing the transport. Most transports charge $10-$25 per rabbit. You will also find other prices and "deals."
When looking for and finding transports, I do the best that I can do. There are often times that a transport may come up and it looks like it will work out, but for various circumstances, it may fall through, so you have to look for and find another transport. We will not be held responsible if a transport that appears like it will work falls through. The majority of the time another transport will come up in a short time.
We do not send the rabbit(s) pedigrees with the person who is transporting. We will mail our customer the pedigrees, as that is easier for all parties involved.
Shipping Policy:
This shipping policy applies to orders of 1-4 rabbits. If the buyer wants 5 or more rabbits
shipped, contact us for possible price differences. Feel free to email us with your particular
situation and price negotiations.
The following is a breakdown of what the buyer will have to pay for:
1. $150 handling fee. This fee was figured because of the following reasons:
a. 180 miles round trip to the airport (LAX). It is approximately 4 hours round trip driving to the airport, plus time getting the rabbit(s) into the airport terminal and on the right flight. There may be a chance where the rabbits could be taken to a different airport (Burbank), but it is only a small amount closer than LAX.
b. 60 miles round-trip to the vet for health certificate. It is about 1 hour - 1 1/2 hours driving round-trip plus the actual vet visit time.
c. Wear and tear on our vehicle
d. Fuel price
e. Our time - (7-10 hours [travel time to vet and airport; time at vet; time at airport])
2. Price of rabbit(s). Our price range is typically $25-$45. You can see our sales policy for more information.
3. Carrier(s) with water and feed attachments (buyer may order the shipping container and accessories and have it shipped via UPS/FedEx to our home). Buyer should contact the airline they are using to figure out what kind of crate they require. KW Cages sells an airline-ready carrier.
4. Vet health check - The range for a health certificate is $40-$60 at the vet. Buyer must pay the vet prior to our trip to get the health certificate. If the buyer cannot do a credit card payment, they can send us the money prior to the vet check.
5. Airline flight. Buyer is responsible to set-up all flight arrangements. We will help set up flight arrangements, as we have shipped animals before. We have found that Frontier Airlines have the cheapest price to ship rabbits. They charge $50 one way per crate (we think this is for up to 50 pounds). We have also used Alaska Air and had great service with them. We used Air Canada one time for a puppy which went to Canada.
All these airlines fly out of LAX and Burbank. The buyer needs to make sure that they also fly into their airport. We will use other airlines but, if this airline flys into the buyer's airport we would suggest using this one since they are so cheap. This is the Frontier Airlines Cargo Department phone number: 800-394-2158. They have to have at least a 24 hours notice. We will not do any shipping on Wednesdays or Saturdays. Any other days of the week we can do shipping.
All money must be in our hands 2 weeks in advance of the flight in the form of a money order.
Our stock is healthy as well as any rabbits we are selling so, if the rabbit(s) arrive to their destination sick or dead (for whatever reason) we will not be responsible. All shipping sales are non-refundable and non-replaceable.
If the buyer is buying a rabbit(s) for show purposes, we will do our best to let the buyer know the quality of the rabbit(s). We will send front, side, top, and rear pictures if the buyer requests to see pictures. If for some reason the rabbit(s) does not do good on the show tables, we will not be held responsible for this.
We can breed a doe(s) to one of our bucks if the buyer would like us to. We will make sure that the buck did his job (i.e. fell off the doe at least 2-3times) but, we cannot guarantee that the rabbit(s) will produce a live litter when the time comes. We will not ship does who are 10 days or more pregnant as it will be too much stress on the doe. Please see our sales policy for more information on breeding.
We will mail the pedigree(s) to the buyer. The buyer must give us their mailing address so that we can do this. We will do our best and try to get the pedigree(s) in the mail to the buyer by the day the rabbit(s) are shipped.
