Uncle
Davver
"Uncle Davver's Really Scary Movie Show"
Deep inside the world famous Silent Movie Theatre in
Hollywood, California lies a card carrying member of the Legion of
the Undead - Local 103. Infesting this important institution of
silent silver-screen sensations, is the antithesis of Hollywood's
greatest achievements. Moviedom's unwanted children have cowered
here to hide from the ridicule of Tinseltown's upper class, and to
manifest themselves in the embodiment of a foul mass of abhorrent,
lifeless tissue, who rises from his sarcophagus once a week to
smother this fine theatre under a dark cloud of sub B grade
cinematic cheese. This weekly ritualistic abomination is known as
UNCLE DAVVER'S REALLY SCARY MOVIE SHOW!
Notes:
|
The
character of Uncle Davver is a composite of many old-time TV
horror show hosts, formerly from shows like "Creature
Feature." |
|
From 2001 to 2003,
actor/voice-over artist Wally Wingert hosted 12 private movie
parties he called "Wally's Screening Room," at the
Silent Movie Theatre in Hollywood. |
|
"Uncle Davver's
Really Scary Movie Show" is loosely based on those highly
successful parties, and utilizes the immense and unique following
Wingert's gatherings have developed. |
|
Designed as a
late-night, weekend comedy show, "Uncle Davver's Really Scary
Movie Show" combines elements of "Mystery Science
Theatre 3000," "The Rocky Horror Picture Show," and
your favorite nostalgic TV horror hosts. It morphs public domain B
horror and sci-fi films, with sketch comedy, celebrity guests and
musical parodies. |
|
Wally is presently
developing this TV series concept with Producer Ken Dennis. Ken
was most recently Supervising Producer on the insanely popular
"Family Guy" series. He also produced on "X
Files," "Millennium," "Space; Above and
Beyond" and other shows. |
