| The most unbelievable story within the Horrorland Hotel's history lies in Room 237 - on the second floor. Room 237 was the original owner's bedroom before the house became a hotel back in 1956. The homeowner, an old woman, died in 1950, in the bed of the room which is now known as Room 237. "Almost everyone has heard something or other go on in that room." explains a guest. "And since the old woman died right before midnight, it's at night that people hear things. Sometimes people hear a crazy lady talking to herself. Of course, no one is ever around." The Horrorland Hotel's Room 237, has already been occupied on several different occassions. Although it's been rented, no one ever shows any sign of checking out of the hotel that stayed in the room. "Now," says the current hotel manager, "We never rent the room out. Even if the rest of the hotel isn't vacant. We've pretty much blocked it off, I guess there's been too many disruptions and what not that went on in there. So we had to let it be." Room 237 has already been talked about in several local newspapers. And yet, there are still people who want to take the risk of renting it out. "I remember a couple months ago passing by Room 237, and hearing someone's voice. It was soft whispering, so I couldn't hear what they were saying - it sounded more like mumbling. I had the keys with me, so I opened the door and seen a woman standing near the window across the room. Her face was very distorted and grotesuqe. And her body was wrinkly and old. She was very scary, but after a couple seconds, she disappeared. She had just kind of stood there and looked at me. For the moment, it was scary, but it hasn't stopped me from working here. I don't think anything can." |
