The paranormal and stories of ghosts that have haunted people and places, still to this day scare some of us so much that we find ourselves sleeping with the light on, hiding under our covers, checking under our beds (just in case), and walking down our own hallways with flashlights. The basement portion of this site contains just that. Stories of the paranormal, and some definitions of what ghosts and poltergeists really are, (since most of us aren't exactly experts). These might not leave you sleeping with the light on, but it might leave you thinking...
Seance - organizes a sitting for the purpose of receiving spirit communication
Rappings - a form of spirit communication
Poltergeist - a lost spirit
Ghost Ships - commonly linked to disasters and shipwrecks
Arrival Ghosts - apperance of a person in advance
Ghost vehicle - ghostly vehicles that suddenly appear on the road

Ghost Calls - A phone call from the dead seems to be a random event. Most of calls are between people who are related as family members. The calls are usually initiated by the deceased wishing to impart a farewell message. Many calls take place on days of importance such as mother's day or birthdays, etc...
People who have received phone calls from the dead report that the voices are exactly the same as when the person was living. The telephone rings normally but the connection is usually bad with static, or may seem far away. The voice of the deceased tends to grow fainter as the call progresses. Sometimes the voice fades away completely.
Ghost calls usually occur when you are in a passive state of mind. In some very interesting cases, the call is placed long distance and connected by an operator. Checks with the telephone company turned up no evidence of a call on they're records.

Apparations - someting that appears and disappears quickly
Ghost Coffin - mysterious disturbance of coffins

Alcatraz Haunting - Alcatraz was originally an army fort and prison but later in 1934 converted into a jail. The prison was near impossible to escape and conditions in the jail were shocking. The guards constantly beat the prisoners and the screams were heard throughout the prison. Prisoners for the most part were not allowed to talk so the only real sounds heard in Alcatraz were those of violence.
Since Alcatraz was closed, both guards and tour guides have reported hearing sounds of men's voices, moans, running feet in the corridors, whistles and clanging metal doors. Terrifying screams have been heard from the dungeon. Some people feel very strange feelings near 14-D. The are feels cold even on a hot day.

Death Coach - superstition that death travels in a horse drawn coach.
Ghost Dance - dance to communicate with ghosts
Corpse candles - supposed to prestige death
Ghoul - evil spirit that robs graves
Invisibles - ghosts that play with children that only children can see
Fog Bow - strange apparation in the alps
Extras - ghosts that appear in photos
