is a small group of people in central Florida (primarily Citrus County) interested in two similar equestrian projects. I am currently working on getting all the legal and organizational paperwork submitted and approved. One part of the non-profit corporation will deal with rescuing horses from abuse and slaughter. The other will work with training some of these horses into a therapeutic riding program for the handicapped. As not all horses are suited for this, several people have offered to let us use their horses until we have our own trained. At first, these services will be made available for the mentally and physically handicapped children and adults in our region of Florida. The next level would be for the "at risk" youth and eventually for everyone without restriction. We also hope to provide as many jobs and opportunities for the disabled as possible.And as funds become available, we hope to expand into ART THERAPY and computer related workshops to improve the quality of life for everyone involved. There is also a profit company being tied into this which should be a dynamic horse business before long. It will complete the whole horse experience .

I have the resources to get this started though I am a little strapped on cash and time at the moment. I'll make the time and develop ways to get the moneybut I need your help to get it off the ground. I realize all of us are extremely tight on money now and we spend it on our horses but if I can get pocket change from enough people I can do the legwork required. One of the people above is a lawyer if I need any legal help filling out the papers. I will probably need some volunteers to sit on the board even tho I am contacting all the vets I've used or taken classes from and the farriers I have used. I'll also be contacting the national and local businesses once the non-profit paperwork is approved. This group will rescue all equines regardless of breed.
If anyone is aware of a group I could contact regarding these horses and others I am constantly running into, I would be interested in contacting them.
The ones here are strapped for cash and would require the horses brought to their facility which I'm trying to avoid with one of these 2 herds. Money recieved will be considered membership dues until all the paperwork is done and is also fully refundable.
