If a horse ever gets Rabies, it can not be cured. Most horses with Rabies must be put down. 
So, make sure they get their Rabies shots every 3 months.

A pregnant mare with Potomac Horse Fever may miscarry, and not have her foal. This is just a shot to prevent PHF, not to cure it.
