| Ok, so Pokemon isn't as popular as it used to be, but now it's like a crime to like it! So what's up with that? And it also seems that if you're over 10 now, and you still like pokemon, than you're entitled to being teased. So what's up with that? You're talking about pokemon with your friends and the guy next to you that liked pokemon 3 months ago makes fun of you. So what's up with- oh you know the rest. |
| Well, it all boils down to this. Our dumb american translators. In Japan pokemon was more aimed for teens and older kids, here in America, it's aimed for five year olds. Good for my younger brother, bad for me. I'm always talking about Pokemon with my friends, and Sophia and I are always talking about Team Rocket. And almost always we're made fun of, and it's really making me ticked off! Especiallly, the kids that liked pokemon just a little while ago, and then laugh at you and say, "You like pokemon? Hahaha! What a baby!" I just get really angry. Nobody makes fun of me for watching Sailor Moon, or even The Powerpuff Girls, so why Pokemon? Pikachu was like an american symbol for a while, so does it seem strange to you that now people laugh at you for drawing him on your sketch pad? Why can't you talk about pokemon withought recieving ridicule? Did some evil person go sprinkle kids with "hate-pokemon dust" and make them hate it? WHAT'S GOING ON!?*deep breath* As I was saying, Pikachu was loved. Boys thought he was powerfull, girls thought he was irrisistibly cute. Now you even utter the word pikachu and kids turn around and ask wryly, "You still watch pokemon?" Maybe it's because our television shows are getting gorier and more violent, so Pokemon isn't violent enough for the guys. Maybe some really popular girl went around saying pokemon was stupid and all the other girls craving popularity and have too big an ego agreed, and soon they really started to hate pokemon. It's just like all of a sudden kids woke up and said, "I don't like pokemon anymore." So I wonder, why did it lose it's popularity in the first place? All of the kids out there, still going to the pokemon center, still trading cards, and still watching the show, I'm proud of you. You aren't letting the evil "I don't like pokemon" curse get to you. There is NOTHING wrong with liking pokemon and I congratulate all of you that don't care if all the kids in your class don't like pokemon and make fun of you. So I leave you with this, Next time someone asks evily "you like pokemon?" hold your head up high and say "Yeah! I do!" *Singing again*:Be true to your show now, be true to your pikachus.
