Mona Zaki, although she had no interest at all on being an actress is now a remarkable leading Star. Mona started her career in acting accidentally, when she met Mohamed Sobhi, the famous Egyptian Actor and Director. 'I was a fan of Mohamed Sobhi, there was an ad for new faces, I decided to enter this competition just in order to meet Mohamed Sobhi. I entered the competition, when it was my turn, I had nothing in mind to rehearse, Mohamed Sobhi told me go and study some rehearsal and return back, I see in you a good actress'. I did return, and I was accepted, I participated in the program "Studio 2000" for training actors. I trained with Mohamed Sobhi for eight months.

Mona says that the most difficult role she did yet was in (Omar 2000). 'The character I had to play was very different than mine'. (Omar 2000), was a turning point in her career, audiences and critics found in her the talented actor, not just nice face and pleasant features

Mona thinks the lack of women's starring roles today in the Egyptian Cinema is due to incapability of writers, 'I think the writers have no understanding to the women's feelings they just cannot find interesting subjects, the script writers seem to be withdrawn away from women's roles, as they just cannot understand nor take the time to explore how today's women feel, nor the problems they are facing.'

Mona's favorite Super Stars are Omar El Sherif, Roushdi Abaza, Adel Emam and off course Ahmed Zaki.

President Hosni Mubarak has awarded Mona, for her role in film (Days of Sadat). 'I really did not expect such award, I felt great after receiving this award.'

Mona is a Mass Communication student at the fourth grade. Mona's dreams is to prove herself as a good actress. She wants to make good remarkable roles in her career as a Super Star. 'There is a lot to do'
