The Chandelier Swing (Demo Tape)
The Hosstages' official demo tape titled, "The Chandelier Swing," included 5 songs and was recorded on David's analog four-track tape recorder, using the Blastoffs' mixer. This demo was a collaborative effort by the band and Brandon Betts, and the demo's sound quality was relatively decent.
IN ORDER OF DEMO:
- Hawaii - While this demo version of "Hawaii" is a *little* raw, it lays the groundwork for the song that would eventually become track 3 on Autumn means it's all downhill.
- 4 on the Floor - Equally raw and equally included on Autumn means it's all downhill.
- Struck - "My pants are on right now. This song is called 'Struck.'" What more needs to be said?
- Built to Kill - The Hosstages take a break from emo to please the punk rock crowd! The many moods of the Hosstages revealed!
- Take Me Away - Along with "Built to Kill," this song from the demo remained on the cutting room floor when it came time to record Amiad. This song is quite long and tended to tire the band, so it was only played live towards the end of the set. (Without fail, David would advise the audience to find a comfortable pillow, etc.) This song has some interesting transitions and should be considered a worthy B-side rarity!
