As your newly elected President, I would like to start by saying thank you to the many people who have made our club successful. So, here goes:
TO: Viktoria, for holding it all together as past President, and for her (and Bob’s) hospitality in hosting the annual picnic and Hosta Sitter Plant Sale.
TO: Jim and Linda Healey, Dan and Joanne Maier, Susan Steindorff, Frank Rosin, Dave and Cindy Jennings, and Wynne Trowbridge for sharing their homes and gardens with us this summer. It was great!!
TO: The newly elected officers (see the complete list under OFFICERS) for stepping forward to fill critical vacancies.
TO: Officers and Committee Chairpersons who remained in position and continue to serve in an exemplary manner.
TO: All who returned potted sitter plants or contributed hostas and other plants from their gardens.
FINALLY: A special thank you to the members who have faithfully attended our meetings and a word of encouragement to everyone to come to our meetings.
The strength of any organization lies with its members. Whether you are a Master Gardener, Botanist, vendor, or new gardener, there is a contribution you can make to the club. We all want to know what is in it for me?? WELL, let me tell you – the joy of:
- Gaining knowledge about growing Hostas and gardening in general.
- Acquiring Hosta that you haven’t even heard of.
- Meeting a great group of people.
- Sharing your experiences (the good, the bad, and the funny) with others.
SO, come to the October meeting – let’s get reacquainted. I would personally like to hear your ideas on how to make our club more meaningful to the membership.

Program:
Kent Terpening will make a presentation on how to prepare for a Hosta Cut Leaf Show. This will be a very interesting and informative talk.
Kent will also show slides of the gardens at Cornell Plantations and the private gardens of Steve Chamberlain, Kevin Rawlings and Viktoria Serafin.
