~ At the airport ~ Amy paced back and forth wondering if she should tell her friend about AJ. So much ran through her head that she didn't even notice Brenda walking up to her. "Amy!"
"Brenda!" Amy yelled running toward her best friend, "Hey how are you?"
"Great! It's been hectic but everything's going good."
"Well come on. Let's go pick up your bags and we'll go to my apartment." Amy said ushering Brenda to the luggage pick up ramp. They grabbed her bags and took off for Amy's apartment. When they arrived Amy got a little tense hoping AJ wouldn't surprise Brenda without her getting a chance to explain. She opened the door. Everything was quiet. Amy let out a sigh of relief.
"You can go set your stuff in my room." Amy showed her house to Brenda, which wasn't much and then they set out to explore the town. They didn't come back for another four hours.
"Oh my gosh. When you jumped on that stage and started dancing I thought you were going to get us kicked out of the club!" Brenda said laughing as they pulled up to the apartment building.
"I can't believe that director gave me his number. This could be my break!" Amy said locking the doors to her car.
"Hey Amy who's that in your window?!?" Brenda said staring at Amy's window of her apartment. Amy looked up and saw AJ backing away from something. His eyes were huge like he was scared and he kept walking backwards like if something was coming after him. Amy ran up the flight of stairs as quick as she could.
"Amy wait shouldn't we call the cops!" Brenda yelled trying to catch up to Amy who was already unlocking her door. Amy busted into her apartment. The living room was filled with furniture. Everything was new. The walls had unique designs on them and pictures hung from every wall. The smell was different and the floor had a different color carpet on it.
"Amy…what's this?" Brenda asked appearing behind Amy.
"I don't know." Amy walked in with Brenda right behind her. They looked around amazed. It was like they were in a different time. Like this place was still new and someone else lived here.
"AJ!" Amy yelled out. "Are you here?"
"Who's AJ?" Brenda asked stopping.
"Shh!" Amy scolded hoping to hear AJ.
"Amy…" Brenda said looking in the bedroom. Amy followed Brenda's gaze. Brenda and her stood there watching in disbelief. A.J. was yelling at something Amy and Brenda couldn't see. *BANG* Amy and Brenda jumped at the sudden noise that sounded like a gunshot. They watched as AJ crumpled over and hit the floor.
"Why are you doing this?" He whispered from the floor. AJ held his side trying to stop the blood that was spilling out over the carpet, staining it a deep dark red. Then AJ looked straight at Amy and Brenda.
"Help me." He whimpered. Amy began to go to him but Brenda grabbed her arm stopping her. Someone invisible to them picked up AJ and began to rock him in their arms. Whimpering and crying filled the house. Amy grabbed her ears. She tried to stop the crying that was now turning into creepy shrieks and moans of pain. Objects started to float around the room. Amy watched in disbelief. Then all of a sudden they began flying and smacking into walls or dropping onto the floor. A lamp flew off of its table and came straight for Brenda. Right before it hit her it fell and smashed at her feet.
"Amy let's get out of here!" Brenda yelled over the crying that was now sounding more like yells of anger and hate. Amy looked at AJ. She wanted to run to him but her feet wouldn't move. He laid lifeless on the floor. Brenda grabbed Amy's arm to pull her out of the room. Amy jerked out of Brenda's grip.
"No I have to go to him!" Amy yelled dodging things while running to AJ. Just as she kneeled down to grab him he disappeared.
"Amy come on!" Brenda said dragging Amy out of the room. They ran back to Amy's car and sped off as fast as they could. They didn't know where they were going but anywhere was better than where they just were.
