February 2001
| 02/01/01 | Here is the latest word from Boot as far as the new album goes.
"We are just writing away right now. We have about 7 songs we are happy with. We want to have 7-8 more before we decide on the songs for the album. We are definitely going for a more powerful, rock sound on this one. Probably no ballads. The tentative plan is to release the album in June. That's all I have for now." So now we just have to wait until June gets here to hear the new stuff! I don't know about you, but I can't wait! ~Laura |
January 2001
| 01/05/01 | The dogs are going back to the studio to start recording their new album. For the life of us, we can't figure out why Spitfire didn't release "You Are the One" as a single! DOH!!!!! The new album should be released around June of 2001. However, they should start touring again in March. We're keeping our fingers crossed. Thank you and good night. |
| 01/05/01 | Here is a message that Ryan posted in an AOL Hair of the Dog Music
Message board. We've put Ryan's comments in yellow and our comments
in white.
"Greetings Dogfighters! It's been much too long since MY last post in the 'ol HOTD folder, so being that this is a New Year, I resolve to post more frequently. Actually, I hate New Years resolutions and never stick to them, so lets just say that I'll be writing more often cause I damn well feel like it. You go BOY!!!!!! We damn well feel like doing......damn it...there go our minds again. Sorry!!! Read on! As always, we had a great time hanging out with each and every one of you Why thank you on the road and we plan on seeing you all ASAP. But first we must take care of business, making music that is. I realize that it wasn't that long ago that RISE was released, but lets face it people, rock and roll years are like dog years WOOF; for every one that you're gone, it seems like seven. And being the new, up and coming band that we are, it's our privilege and duty to keep giving you as much new music as possible. As far as we're concerned, you're already there....the promoters just have their head up their asses. That being said, Spitfire Records has informed us that, yes, it's time to return to the studio to write about life, lust, love, the road and all that comes with it. aka Laura and Amy....Ryan didn't really say that, but we all know that's what he's thinking! HA! While I'm not at liberty to play you any new music at this point, awwwww I can tell you that one of the working titles we've been throwing around is a lovely little ditty called Hellride. KICK ASS! Oh, yeah!! This will keep us off the road for the next 2-3 months. We'll be in the mental institution visiting Dr. Feelgood for a while then. Maybe we'll run into each other at the NAMM show if you see me, stop and say hello. Needless to say, we're broke from all the road trips we've taken this summer so we can't go.....WAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!! So thanks to you Mr. Deejay Jeff Strange, for spinning our record. Thanks to you, Mr. & Mrs. Joe Rock and Roll from Your City, USA Laura and Amy from small town Indiana for coming out and supporting us when we rolled through town. Metal Edge, Metal Edge Online, Hit Parader, Music Connection, Billboard, Metal Sludge, Metal Hammer, and every local, major and not so major newspaper, thanks for finding yet another space on your honorable (or not so honorable) pages to fit us in. And the fan websites do you mean our little 'ol website?: to one and all who have not only spent countless hours, days even, you mean weeks? constructing a site in our honor, but traveled distances that would make even the veteran eighteen-wheeler driver shake in his boots. No, they were shaking in their boots because the Mokur Jahoobee Girls flashed them. You are truly crazy and insane and we love you for it! WE LOVE YOU TOO!!!!!!!! Don't mind our crazy outbursts....we're getting help for that. (By the way, the shot glass/mugs given to us by the girls at the hotdgirlz site have come in very handy.) Ryan really did write that!!!!! WooooHooooo Just bring them with you on the next tour so we can take pictures! We're glad that you could use them....that's what they're for after all. ;) It's been nice chatting with you, sorry for monopolizing the conversation. That's okay, we know how you are.....just kidding! But like I said, I haven't posted in a while. Also, the HOTD Hotline is up and running again hurry, go catch it - (310) 226-6199. Call us the nextt tiiime you're having a party, we'd love to hear from you. We're partying right this second and we've already called. :oD Stay cool. You know we will....just because we live in Indiana and we're freezing our asses off right now. We'll see ya on the road. You know you will.....hehehehe. Ryan Cook
Sorry about the insane comments, but if you didn't already know, we're drinking.......and we're crazy enough sober......believe us, Hair of the Dog knows how we get when we drink. YEEEEHAWWW |
| 01/02/01 | We're currently in the process of updating our website with new newz, pictures, message board, etc. etc. Thanks to a great friend, we will soon be switching to our very own MOTHER FUCKING, KICK ASS, ROCK AND ROLL domain! www.hotdgirlz.com Thank you Jay!!!! As soon as we have it finished, we'll put a direct link from this page. We've got a lot of great things in store so stay tuned for that. |
| 01/01/01 | HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!! Hopefully all of the dogs made good use of the shot glasses that we got them on this past tour. :) |
December 2000
| 12/20/00 | Okay, okay, we're still recovering from November, what can we say?! Can you blame us? After all, we WERE on the road with Hair of the FUCKING Dog!!!!!! Ooooh......a fucking dog, now THAT'S a sight. ;) Both Amy and I hope that everyone has a very happy Thanksgiving. |
| 12/10/00 | Hair of the Dog made the February 2001 issue of Metal Edge Magazine....the Year in Review. Here's what Metal Edge had to say about our dogs. "Topping this year's list of memorable interviews were my one-on-one sessions with each member of KISS. Years ago, my father and I walked into a department store and I bought my first album ever, KISS Alive II. Sitting down with Peter, Paul, Gene and Ace was a childhood dream come true...Memorable for an entirely different reason, was lunch with Hair of the Dog at L.A.'s House of Blues. Unmemorable may be more the word to describe the afternoon, as the only bar tab that beat it was the night of AC/DC at Madison Square Garden........." WOOHOO, we never had a doubt that Hair of the Dog could drink just about anybody under the table. They're professionals damn it! |
November 2000
| 11/19/00 | Well, there's not much to report as far as newz this month because Amy and I have been on the road with Hair of the Dog. Of course they kicked ass......did you have to even wonder?! Here are the shows that we attended: 11/9 Battle Creek, MI; 11/10 Wausau, WI; 11/11 LaCrosse, WI; 11/14 Fort Wayne, IN; 11/17 Rockford, IL; 11/18 Richmond, IN. The Wausau show was by far the best simply because there were nearly 2000 raging HOTD fans there and all of them were having the time of their lives rocking to Hair of the Dog. We have plenty of juicy stories, but we're keeping those to ourselves. Hehehehehe ;) I don't know about you, but I'm in the mood for some baked goods. |
