Jon Polak will perform "The Widening Gap," a performance piece that utilizes found text and multi-media to tell an American myth.  Through the words of the founding fathers, the piece examines principles on which the country rests.  From the value of land to the value of a stock index, The Widening Gap reflects comically and soberingly on founding principles of our country's legacy.

John Polak has created performances in garages, on the street, and occasionally in real theaters.  As an actor, he most recently worked with Campo Santo in the world premiere of Denis Johnson's "Shoppers, Carried by Escalators into the Flames" at Intersection.  Last year, he played Raymond in Mac Wellman's "Murder of Crows" with Crowded Fire; and The Messengers in Euripedes' "The Bacchae" with Shotgun Players.

His adaptation of Chekhov's "The Seagull" was his last foray into
writing/directing for the theater.  It was produced at Bindlestiff Studio.
