You must have a regiment of beastmen in order to field Shamans. Shamans are the cheap magic users for Chaos, as they are just a little more expensive than Human or Elf Wizards. A Shaman has the widest choice of spell decks in the Chaos army. He can choose between; Tzeentch, Slaanesh, Nurgle, and Dark and can mix and match as he chooses. For a Beastman Shaman Lord, I suggest 1 dark and 3 Tzeentch for reasons I'll go into later. Shamans are good if you need to save a few points on a spell caster and I use them in pure Khorne armies in order to be able to do something in the magic phase, otherwise I prefer Chaos Sorcerers. Shamans cannot rides mounts or monsters.
