MIRAGE 2000

The Mirage 2000 in the picture is on Combat Air patrol and is seen carrying MATRA Magic close combat AAMs (outboard, on wing) with MATRA Super 530 D beyond visual range air to air missiles (inboard, on wing), and a centreline drop-tank.. The Mirage 2000 was the first "fly-by-wire" aircraft to join the Indian Air Force, and though Russian aircraft have been hogging the limelight at airshows with their fancy aerobatics, the Mirage 2000 is capable of some really fancy and spectacular aerobatic manoeuvres and is a real thoroughbred among fighter aircraft.
Armed Mirage 2000 Another picture of a Mirage 2000 with the same armament but minus the centreline drop-tank. The MATRA Super 530D air to air missile is an "all weather, all sector" weapon capable of intercepting targets 30,000 feet above or below the launch aircraft. It has a semi-active radar guidance system, a fragmenting warhead, and a proximity fuse.

The Mirage pictured below on the left is carrying Durandal anti-runway bombs, in addition to a MATRA R 550 Magic AAM.
