Food For Thought

For years our governments have been telling us that vaccines will cure all of our infectious disease problems. What they haven't been telling us is that these vaccines can have serious side effects. Ever notice that when you go to the chemist to pick up a prescription, the chemist tells you about any possible side effects and that the medication comes with a fact sheeet that tells you what these side effects might be and also informs you of conditions that recommend the drug not be taken? Now think back to the last time that you had one of your children immunised. Did anybody tell you what the possible side effects of the vaccine were? Did anyone enquire about your family history to see if there is an increased risk of reaction? It is possible that you were told to expect a little bit of a temperature and grumpiness for a few days. I doubt very much that anyone mentioned that there can be some serious physical and neurological side effects.

Now, we are not anti immunisation, but we feel that before we expose our children to unnecessary risks, we would like to know all of the facts. We want the ability to make an informed choice. We understand that immunisation plays an important role in stopping the spread of disease, but it is time that the government and the medical proffession accept that there are risks involved and provide support when things go wrong.

No drug has ever been created that is safe for all people. For every drug produced there is a potential for a severe reaction in some people. Why should immunisation drugs be any different. There will be some children who will have a reaction and the sooner the government crawls out from under its rock and admit that reactions are possible, the sooner we can get help for children who are unfortunate enough to have a reaction.
