RESUME

Who is this woodwitch?

"What is a woodwitch?" you ask. Picture that crazy ol' lady living on the edge of the woods, you know, the one with all those cats, the lady that dances in the moonlight in the garden throughout the year? The painted one, tattooed with stories of and pictures of accomplishments. The one that many people don't have much to do with, but will come and ask recommendations of what to take for what, or what to plant with what to reduce insects and increase crops. Yep, that's a type of woodwitch. She (or he) has learned to walk in beauty, to see joy in the moment of nature, to feel passion, and to understand that survival is painful. Everything must die in order for something else to live. It is the way of life.

We are all dependant on each other and everything. (unless of course you're an amoeba)

As for my gender, I am an extremely hetero female, with strong masculine attributes. My father made sure of our survival abilities.
I can bait my own hook (I do detest cleaning fish), hit my target, change my own oil and tires, give my jeep a tune up.
Let me in a dress and just watch out! And please, take me out on the dance floor.

Dancing
A verticle expression of a horizontal desire

If you should meet me in person, I am called Mischa. Draigsidhe is Scot Gaelic for faery-dragon (dragonfly). My keeper of illusions, the one who guides them into my reality.

In my personal path, I am witch (sorceress to those who walk the shadows). I utilize the energies surrounding me to assist me in my day to day life. It is an understanding, nothing much more. No evil stepmothers... (well, I was just once) but lived and taught him honestly. He just didn't want to learn except by experience.

My main practice is herbology and crystal harmonics. I am adept in Tarot, Chieromancy (palmistry), Runes and some Numerology. (I really have a passion for symbolic mathematics)
My talents lie in the creation of herbal salves, tinctures, incenses, and potions. I also formulate teas and gem elixirs for specific ailments. Being gifted, I have further persued the arts of Tarot and palmistry for entertainment and self enlightenments. Every now and then it even helps pay through hard times.
I also work with wood and stone to create occult tools, be it wands, staves, or forms of divination (runes carved into wood or sea polished stones).

I believe Destiny is in our own hands
I believe in my free will

In hopes to clarify things, in the statement "I am a witch", I do not mean Wiccan. Though I have respect for their rituals amd tenets, being human I cannot find myself able to maintain pure thoughts, though by experience it is a much nicer mental state. I do experience random joys, though from my desires alone. There is much debate over witches vs. wiccans. Witches, and those who claim themselves truly, are everyday people who live their life in constant awareness of the magic around them and their ability to utilize it. One may live NEXT DOOR. Wicca is a religious order that pays homage to higher beings and unfortunately there are those out there becoming financially fit due to their 'teachings'. I have found some if not most of those persons uneducated (or incorrectly so) and unenlightened. Education and the passing of knowledge should be given freely to those who seek it honestly. There is no price on wisdom.

Perhaps it has been stated somewhere that I walk side by side with the ancients/elders. Like old friends that favors are done for out of love and respect, I seek their guidance. I worship no gods. I honor them, their polarity, their energies, and the people who live so honestly. The names and words of human need for deification and ritual are the rythmical patterns of breathing, the breath that calms and helps us to direct our thoughts and energies. And the practice of magic? It is knowing how to find the right c(h)ords of the web that surround us to achieve our greatest goals.

FOCUS

Nature truly is a remarkable process.

Hiking used to take up my spring, summer, and fall weekends. I enjoy backpacking in the wilderness with friends and my Big Dumb Dog! -BDD- (yes, it's what he answers to)
Then life made a sudden course change on me. Or should I say I decided to go for broke.
I have uprooted myself, the critters that I care for, and we moved west to Arizona, land of grand canyons and sunsets. Even the sunrise (to which I awaken daily) has taken on a beauty that takes one's breath away. Almost every day is like a Maxfield Parrish painting either coming or going.

If you should venture into Nature....

PLEASE
Take ONLY pictures
leave ONLY footprints.
Kill NOTHING but time

On a profesional level, I am a NC certified EMT-B and I once had my goal set to be a full Paramedic. A former Cytogenetic Technician (fancy technical term for microscope jockey) with Carolinas Medical Center (part of "the SYSTEM") but I lost my job due to repetitive motion injuries, and have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. I also became severely sensitive to environmental and chemical exposures. (not to mention my tattoos were a bit beyond their comprehension) I was discriminated against.

At the moment I work in Animal Care at the UofA. Not a glamorous job, but it pays the bills and I have the opportunity to further my education and possibly live a childhood dream to raise horses.

For stress management, I tend my gardens. I must confess tho, the desert is truly remarkable and unto itself a lesson in survival.
Ethnobotany is my hobby. Be sure to check out the herbal links to botanical datas and materia medicas.
On the personal note, I am owned by 4 adorable and atypical cats. Call them Familiars, not that they would answer you... I find living and working with them to be VERY familiar.
And of course the BDD who is guardian and protector...all 110 pounds of MuttPuppy! (Rottweiler/Labrador mix)
Now included in the menagerie are two rats (a fisher and a Long-Evans -hooded rat) and a canadian red sided garter snake.

Please feel free to just drop me a line. I will respond.

Personal statistics:
Born: April 19, 1957, 1840 EST Bangor, Maine, USA
Ash Blonde hair, blue eyes, 5'6", athletic tho 20 pounds overweight (my opinion)
Personal favorites: Photography, hiking and backpacking, horseback riding, picnics, creeks, swimming (skinny dipping), camping... anything outdoors. Blowing up TV's (or just turning them off!) and sunsets with a bottle of wine.
Addicted to fresh air and sunshine, and yes, I'm a morning person.
I like reading Sci/Fi/Fantasy books and am always interested in what's happening in the technological field of medicine.
Fine wines, good cooking, salads that include flowers and weeds.
and yes, I'm single...No children, 'cept the critters. I took out the factory and put in a playground.
I used to own my own home which I took on to repair and renovate. I redid an old 3bdrm 1 bt ranch with full unfinished basement into a wonderfully feng shui'd 2bdrm, 1.5bt, with back deck. Much light kept me and my arrangments of tropical trees and plants happy during nasty cold wet winters back east.
I drive a '94 Jeep Sahara, my steed and travel companion. Yes, after owning and riding my own Harley for 14 years, I do believe in the sentience of inanimate objects.
tattoos and piercings cover various parts of my body, most tastefully done and some still in progress. Skin art, a tribute to one's life accomplishments.
and you CAN take it with you.

Feel free to visit my Apothecary for descriptions of my wares. I don't do much with it anymore, but for the right price, I'd be happy to create something of art to treasure.
Herbal medicines (ethnobotany) and edible wild plants are my greatest study and I am still in the process of learning all I can.

I wish to retain and pass on the knowledge of the Old Ways and the primitive means of acomplishment. I truly believe that one day the human race will destroy itself with few remaining survivors. The Old Ways will once again be needed so that food, warmth, shelter, and mental stimulation will overcome the hardships. (Common sense is NOT so common) And perhaps diversity will be accepted as the norm.
