This page was last updated Aug 2004   Summertime and the living is easy, at leat for fruit lovers.  What could be better.  Grapes, peaches, figs, plums and oh, how I love those watermelons.     By July or so, the strawberries are past their peak and not as cheap, and typically not as good, but other berries are plentiful, like blueberries for instance.     Hass avocados are at their peak season and at their cheapest, which unfortunately seems to never be cheap enough these days.   Crimson Sweet watermelons are my favorites, awesome things that they are and they are dirt cheap now, especially here in Arizona where they are grown by the truckloads.  I love seeing those semi trailer     s full of watermelons heading north every summer.   Mangos are also at their peak, cheap and awesome.   The only oranges available now from the California area are Valencias and they are pretty sweet by this time of the year.
