Lax Optics Pinhole Glasses

Some of you may have been referred to this site by a company known as "Lax Optics. " They have been using an UNAUTHORIZED testimonial from us giving the impression that I endorse their product.—"pinhole glasses."

The Food and Drug Administration in Maryland, USA, has studied this product and find that there is no benefit to be derived from its use. It certainly is not worth the $50-plus charged for this product. All attempts in the seventies and since then by the Food and Drug Administration to prosecute this company for their claims have been difficult because the firm is based in South Africa.

You would do better by spending your hard-earned money on low vision aids, or by going to a reputable optometrist. Also, you may derive the same benefit simply by shielding your eyes from bright sunlight or by wearing a wide brimmed hat or a peaked cap and a good pair of wrap-around sunshields.

I regret that this unscrupulous company has continuted, without permission, to utilize and compromise my good name as an indorsement for their gain. I have received many phone calls from dissatisfied customers who have not been able to return the Lax Optic glasses or get a refund..

Sincerely,
Dorothy H. Stiefel
Texas Assn. of Retinitis Pigmentosa, Inc.
