First let me send you a BIG cyber hug because I finally have found a webpage that discusses the subject that so few ever discuss. The disabled person who because of an accident has suffered head or spinal injuries and the ramifications.
My husband was disabled by a drunk driver in 89 and while he can walk he does suffer longterm head trauma and it is hard for him to walk etc as he broke many bones back, neck, shoulders etc.
And few people ever discuss in public issues like sex in marriage with a disabled spouse etc. So you have done us a major favor and are sincerely an answer to prayer.

Kudos to you for the site. I haven't read any of the other guestbook posts, so if I repeat anything you already know, I'm sorry.
It sounds like Michael "joined the club" back when rehab was in it's infancy. I consider myself luck that here in Toledo, we have a top-flight rehab facility - the Coghlin Rehabilitation wing of the Medical College of Ohio. I can't say enough about the
taff there. I was ready to come home after only 2 months of diligent, hard work.
Yes, I'm only a standard para (if there ever could be such a thing). I know I have certain abilities you don't; but my wife and I are, have and continue to ride the same rollercoaster of emotion, tribulation and challenges that the two of you are riding.
I became a T-9/10 para back in 1994 - two months after my wedding. I am but an infaqnt in this club of gimpdom. What a wedding present!
Christy (my wife) is still with me, though my occaisional antics would drive away a lesser person.
The doctors don't know exactly what caused my paralysis - they believe it was a viral infection that settled in my spinal cord. One day it was low back pain, the next: no legs. They tested me for everything under the sun, and still no clue.

I have a neice that was shot in Jan. of this year. The bullet shattered her C-2 vertrbrae leaving her quadriplegic and ventilator dependent. She has yet to be discharged from the hospital. We hope to raise the money for her to have a breathing pacemake
implanted so that she might be able to come off the vent. Her name is Amy Haney. She did not have medical insurance when she became a victim of such a tragic crime. She has been denied funding for a wheelchair. We are attempting to raise the money to
