PERSONAL NOTE:

For those wondering,
yes, I am an Al-Anon,
I choose to work
from our original source,
the Big Book
of
Alcoholics Anonymous.

It is my belief,
that the only difference
between me and a drunk
is that a drunk
is obsessed with booze,
and I'm obsessed with
the boozer !
How many times
have you heard or said
things like,
I did that, and
I was stone cold
SOBER !
Why is it so easy
for a double-winner
to identify in alanon ?
Because we suffer from
the same afflictions!
We think the same,
act the same,
and we die from this
disease the same as
an alcoholic !
It is my opinion,
that what worked
for Lois
will work
for me !
If you take the word
"alcoholic" in the Big Book,
and replace it with
yourself, you will
recognize your disease.
Its a Three Fold Disease
for us as well.
When I first came
to alanon, in our area
there was this wall
between alanon & AA,
but now we've started
understanding we are not
so different.
Arrogance and self-centeredness,
I see it
all the time,
and is that not
insanity?
I believe for me it is.
As you can see,
I feel very passionate
about my program,
as I am sure you are,
and my hope is not
to offend anyone,
but to share with others
what has kept me alive
when nothing else could.
I hope you find here
