The Trail......
The Bassi Falls trail is an easy trail with two moderate obstacles and runs 2 miles up to the falls (4 miles round trip...). Any stock 4 wheel drive vehicle will have no problems making it, and it offers plenty of terrain for people looking for more of a challenge.  I've seen a Toyota 4 wheel drive van and even a baja bug up at the falls. Once at the "staging area" you can go straight to a nice downhill section or take the trail to the right and down towards the campsites. In either case you will eventually end up at the first obstacle.
The first hill.....
Both roads will take you to the first hill which is a nice rocky uphill leading out of the camping area. It's dusty and loose in some sections (in the summer months)  but you should have no problem making it to the top.
What goes up........
A little ways after the uphill you will come to large downhill. Going down will be a breeze but be thinking about which line you want to take on the way back out..... These two hills are the only real big obstacles on the trail, once past these the trail is a piece of cake up to the falls.
Sean getting twisty on the downhill
The trail is located off of Ice House road in between highway 50 and Loon lake.  The detailed directions have been removed  in an attempt to cut down on the traffic on the trail.  This trail sees alot of use and "clean up" runs aren't uncommon (like ours in June of 2001.... see roll call at end of guide...)   Sorry for the inconvenience but it's a neccessary evil in order to keep the trails open.....

BASSI UPDATE.... 3/8/2002
The Bassi Falls trail will be shut down in late 2002 due to erosion and garbage on the trail..... THIS IS WHY YOU NEED TO TREAD LIGHTLY!!!  We've all seen the damage from the yahoos that think it's cool to blaze new trails and cut down trees......congratulations! you've ruined it for the rest of us........see more info at the pirate site or river city rockcrawlers site.
