"A brief word on the new Order of Nekhbet"

The House of Nekhbet is no more. We have joined House Quinotaur and are now the Order of Nekhbet.

We believe that taking this step will make us stronger in the community, and it will show to other houses that if we work as one we can make the difference.

The Vampire Community is growing and it needs to have a haven, where learning and understanding are the most important things. Nekhbet is and it has been an open minded place, where we always say "You never stop learning", and is true.

Nekhbet has been one of the few sites that provides information in our case bilingual (English/Spanish) we know that doing this it helps so many vampires, that might not speak english. Hopefully in the near future we will be able to have a multi lengual site open to many more of our kindred.

Connection, inevitable attraction to that stranger passing by the street, sitting in the table next to you in the bar... We can be anywhere, nowhere, everywhere. We cannot show ourselves for what we really are, we disguise in the shadows, and watch life pass, change, and interact with us. Life is energy and energy is what we feed off. Energy is what we need to survive. We need energy to feel complete, alive, and to go on. Some of us feed off pranic energy, others need blood, the purest living energy source....

Forget about those movies that have entertained you...We cannot turn into bats, live forever, we like crucifixes, can walk under the sun (but prefer not to). What we mainly share with those creatures is the passion for the night, we belong there, where we feel at home, where the silence is our friend, to fill the eternal solitude that is our existance...

We are the loneliness, the passion, the peace, the hunger, the wild, the mystery, the unknown....and for that reason is that we have gathered in this order, The Order of Nekhbet, to go on learning and searching about us and our roots. The mystery is even bigger for us. We are the ones living with this fate.. Sometimes we curse it, but most of the time we love to be what we are.... Real Vampires.

Nekhbet: She of Nekheb; Vulture-Netjer associated with both the land of Upper Kemet itself and its protection, and the protection and symbolism of the White Crown (Hedjet), Nekhbet is often depicted as a full vulture, flying over the head of the ruler bearing the feather of Ma'at and a shen, the circular symbol for eternity, grasped in Her claws.
