11/19/03: The next Arkansas Cab-Over Underdog demo is ready to be put to tape! In fact, the next two Cab-Over demos are go--since there are 10 or more new original tracks, I'll probably wind up splitting the session into two seperate demos. From a style standpoint, the KISS influence is and always will be there, but there will be a slightly more varied influence to the new material. For example, there will be a song called "The Arkansas Cab-Over Underdog" which will include some slide guitar and be more straight-up Southern rock, as opposed to the usual rawk with a Southern edge. Still, besides that and a few other exceptions, the style shouldn't deviate much from what was on the first two demos. The real difference is the quality of riffs in this batch of material--these should be some real monsters of songs! Plus, unlike usual, I've actually jammed on this material for awhile--not going in cold like I usually do for Cab-Over should improve the quality a great deal. Of course, there will be the usual cover on each demo, as well. The songs I have tapped to cover for these demos are "On The Run" by Lita Ford, and tentatively "I Love Rock and Roll" by Joan Jett. I'm also thinking of doing another Motorhead cover, this time being "Deaf Forever." I've got some other stuff I'm going to record first but I'm guessing something will be done on this by late summer/fall. As always, these plans are subject to change. If anything does change, I'll post an update. Till then, you can still listen to/download select tracks off the first two Arkansas Cab-Over Underdog demos on soundclick.com. Enjoy! |
