"Here, look" the girl said as she handed him a piece of paper that stated that she had an appointment with the BSB tour manager.
"Okay Miss Terry, you can go ahead." She smiled, took her paper and went along on her merrily way. She was a little nervous because she was going to see an old friend today and they weren’t always friends. In fact, they didn’t get along that well at all. But they haven’t seen each other in almost four years and they are older now, so things will be different. She still kept in touch with his mother because their moms were good friends. She loved his mom a lot. When she was younger, his mom was like a second mother to her.
"Hey Alex" she said as got out of her thoughts. He was walking out into the hallway. She then ran over to him and gave him a hug. At first AJ didn’t realize who she was, maybe a fan or something, but she looked familiar.
"What, you don’t remember me Mr.-" she didn’t get to finish her sentence when he picked her up and spun her around.
"Lexy, what are you doing here?" he asked as he put her down. "Man, I haven’t seen you in so long."
"Well, you haven’t heard? I talked to your mother yesterday. I’m gonna be covering the tour for ‘Behind the Music’ magazine." (Authors note: I know this magazine doesn’t exist, I got the idea from the show on vh1 but just go along with it.)
"Where the hell is AJ? " Kevin yelled. "He is already a forty-five minutes late for the third day in a row. We have to start rehearsing for this tour and we only have two weeks left to get the new band together and the dances."
"Hey Kev, don’t start having ulcers over me now." AJ said walking onto the stage.
"Where the hell were you?" Kevin asked, annoyed.
"Okay Kev, don’t shit your pants now, I have a good reason to be late. But Nick guess who I saw?" he said changing the subject. "I saw Lexy."
"Who the hell is Lexy?" Nick asked, confused as usual. "Did I use to go out with her or something?"
"No, you remember when we first got together and it was just me, you and Howie?" Nick nodded. "Well do you remember that girl that was always at my house? That girl that I used to-"
"You were late because you were trying to talk to some old girlfriend. Don’t you already have one?" Kevin asked.
"Just listen to me okay? When I was coming into this damn place, I saw her. She’s gonna cover our tour. You know, for that new magazine or something. I started talking to her and that is why I was late. And no she is not an old girlfriend. She is only like fifteen anyway."
"Well, that never stopped you before Bone." Brian said laughing. They all started laughing after.
"That is not funny and no I am not fifteen, I’m seventeen and I’m gonna be eighteen in two weeks. Thank you very much," said a soft voice coming up on the stage. It was Lexy. "And Alex, don’t try to blame you being late on me because we only talked for like ten minutes. Shouldn’t you blame it on your half hour long conversation with your ‘lil bad girl’ you ‘lil bad boy’ " she said in a baby voice. Then they all started laughing. "You guys have to hurry up because ‘lil AJ has been a bad boy and he is going to get a spanking when he gets home’ " They started laughing all over again, everyone except AJ that is. He hadn’t seen her in four years, yet she was the same old nosy little girl that he remembered.
"Hey, I like you already. You must be Lexy. I’m Brian." Brian said putting his hand out.
"No really! Your Brian! I never would have guessed." Lexy said with kind of an attitude. ‘Holly shit’ Brian thought. ‘She must be a real bitch.’ Next thing you know, Lexy started laughing "I was only joking. You must have thinking that I was some kind of bitch or something."
"No, no I didn’t." Brian lied. Then he chuckled a little bit. She knew he was lying.
"But anyway, I just stopped in to say hi. I’m gonna be back tomorrow though because I have to interview each of you and then interview the opening act, but they won’t be here till tomorrow."
Then she looked at Nick. He had been staring at her the whole time. "What?" Nick asked.
"Nothing" she said rolling her eyes. She never really did like Nick, but he used to like her and by the way he was staring, he still does.
"All righty then, um." she said looking around, "Where’s Howie?"
"Uh, he was just here a minute ago." Kevin answered.
"You know Howie." Brian said. "He probably went off somewhere to talk to Elena. You know he has to check in with her. He’s just as whipped as AJ."
"Well at least I’m getting some." AJ shot back.
"That’s really not funny AJ." Brian said. Brian was still upset, he and Leighanne had broken up again and she said that it was for good this time. Their relationship had been going downhill ever since . . . well, right now Brian didn’t even want to think about that right now.
"Okay, let’s not go there." Alexis said trying to end that subject. She could tell that Brian was hurting by the look of sadness and longing on his face.
"We’re going to your mom’s house for dinner again? But baby I thought we would have dinner alone tonight." Howie said to his girlfriend Elena.
By his tone, she could tell that he was a little disappointed. "Okay, I’ll tell her never mind. But she was really looking forward to it. Plus Howie, you know I don’t cook that great."
"I was looking forward to us having some time alone, if you know what I mean." Howie said with a grin on his face. "But anyway, I love the way you cook, baby."
Elena giggled. "Oh Howie, you’re so sweet. I’ll make you something extra special. Okay? So hurry home, I can’t wait."
"Okay, I can’t wait either. I love you Honey." Howie said.
"I love you too. Bye."
"Bye and Hun, I got something for you, it’s a surprise."
"I guess you won’t tell me, so give me clue." Elena pleaded.
"No, but I hope you like it. I really really hope you like it. Bye."
"Bye Honey and hurry up. Okay?"
"Okay." Howie hung up his cell and back to the stage.
After talking with the guys for a while, Alexis decided to let them get started for rehearsal. "Okay, bye guys, I’ll be back tomorrow for interviews okay. But for now I got some shopping to do. See ya."
"Hey Alexis, ya know what? My girlfriend and Howie’s girlfriend are going shopping tomorrow, so why don’t you go with them." Suggested Kevin. "Just so you can get to know them because they will be coming on tour. Then you can come to my little get together that I’m having later on tomorrow."
"But what about the interviews?" asked Alexis.
"You can do them Saturday."
"But what about the opening act, they have a photo shoot on Saturday and I’m leaving Saturday night. I’ll me back the day before the tour starts. Oh you know what? They are going to stay at they same hotel as me, so I can interview them tomorrow night."
Kevin told Alexis that she would meet them at the arena tomorrow. So Alexis decided to stay and watch the rehearsal. That was a good idea because that was the most fun that she had had in a long time. They made her laugh so much. After rehearsing the same routine about eight times, they still couldn’t get it right. That was a shame because they had learned the dance two weeks earlier.
"Oh my goodness, you guys are so bad, I hope you don’t expect to be this bad on tour." Alexis laughed. "And Nick, if you back up a little bit, maybe you will stop tripping Alex."
"That’s what I’ve been telling him the whole time." Fatima said, a bit frustrated.
"Yeah, but we don’t get a lot of time to rehearse." Kevin complained. "AJ comes late everyday."
"Hey, I can’t concentrate unless I get some in the morning," AJ interrupted.
"Shut up AJ." Kevin said, then continued. "And every time AJ is late, Howie seeks off to talk to Elena. I don’t think that Brian is even paying attention and is just hopeless."
"Well, what about you Kevin, what’s your excuse?" Alexis said. She really could not stop laughing. This was so funny.
"Well since you think that you’re so great, then why don’t you do it." Nick suggested. He was getting tired of her already, even though he thought she was hot, she sure was getting on his nerves. He was hoping that that would shut her up for good.
"Okay" said Alexis, "I’ll do it."
"What?" Nick shouted. He was surprised that she took up his offer.
"I said Okay." With that, Alexis got up and took Nick’s place on stage. "I hope you don’t expect me to sing now."
Alexis started to dance and Nick watched as her hips moved to the music and how her body was so perfect. He couldn't help it. He was so attracted to her. He is a single man now, and he only hoped that she was also. Nick made a mental note to talk to AJ later and have him talk to her for him.
Sure enough, Alexis did the dance better then all of them. They were all surprised. AJ had forgotten she was in his dance classes when they were younger. Nick was pissed, and now he felt stupid when everyone was talking about how good she was.
"I guess she showed you Nick." Brian said, trying to hold in his laughter.
"So Nick, how did I do, I wasn’t that bad was I?" Alexis couldn’t help but laugh.
Fatima was impressed. "You learned that whole dance just from watching them?" she asked.
"Well yeah, they did it like a million times. I’ve been taking dance lessons since I was three years old."
"Well if I ever need an extra dancer, I’ll give you a call." Fatima said. "Guys, I’m tired. You can go home now. Get some sleep okay. Tomorrow, we are going to rehearse the whole show until it is perfect, so get here on time." She said the last part loud and clear, looking in AJ’s direction. He looked at her like he didn’t have a clue about what she was talking about. But she could only smile and shake her head.
Everyone was getting their stuff together to leave. Nick looked around to make sure that Lexy was gone. He didn’t see her anywhere, so he pulled AJ aside. "Hey man, I got to talk to you about something."
"Yeah, okay, what is it?" AJ asked, thinking that this was something serious.
"Can you hook me up with Lexy?"
"Nick man, to tell ya the truth, just by the way she was acting today, I don’t think she likes ya man." AJ said, telling him the truth.
"She is just playing hard to get, if she didn’t like me, then she never would have danced for me." Nick replied.
"Whatever man." AJ said patting Nick on the back. "See ya tomorrow."
"Are you still gonna ask her?" Nick asked.
"We’ll see." AJ said walking away. He was in a hurry to get home to his girlfriend Natasha.
*In the parking lot*
"Hey Brian, hold I got to talk to you for a minute" Kevin yelled out.
"Yeah" Brian said turning around.
"Man, I’m worried about you. You don’t seem yourself these days. Is it this whole Leighanne thing again?" Kevin asked.
‘Not again’ Brian thought. "Ya know Kev, I really don’t feel like talking about this now." Brian said as he got in his car. He turned on the ignition and left, leaving Kevin standing there, beside an empty car space.
