This Must Be Heaven

"Will you marry me?"was the impending question on his lips. His picture perfect idea of a proposal in an afternoon picnic setting was ruined by the ominously dark skies outside the living room window. The gloominess outside didn't seem to shatter her spirits or so he thought.
She sat silently on the checkered picnic blanket spread out on his living room floor. Yes should have come out of her mouth immediately but didn't. She loved this man and yet she hesitated with an answer. She hadn't loved many men in her life and now she was being presented with a lifetime offer of it. She knew there were days she wanted to strangle him and there were days when he could hold her in his arms and wash away all the troubles of the world outside. How could she not love him? He's everything she ever wanted in a man and now he was offering himself to her for the rest of their lives. Wow! The rest of their lives. Something most women would be jealous about if they were sitting in her position right now.
"Lynn?"his voice showed concern."Are you okay? Did I say something wrong?"
"No. Not at all. I just don't know what to say."
"Say yes."
"Yes!"she quivered with delight as he slid the family heirloom onto her finger."Brian,"she spoke softly.
"What is it?"
She stood up."Remember we were waiting for that special occasion to, you know,"she slightly blushed at the remark. This was another department she wasn't well experienced in either. She'd been with a couple of men but not enough to know how to truly pleasure a man. Maybe it had something to do with the fact that you had to be in love according to the way her parents raised her.
He stood up. Taking her hand,"We don't have to you know,"he said as though he wasn't already in a constant state of torture after ten months, twelve days, sixteen hours, thirty two minutes and eight seconds but who was counting? It felt like forever, but for her he was willing to make that sacrifice.
"I want to though."
"Are you sure?"
"I'm sure,"she softly pulled his mouth towards getting intoxicated by the fruitiness of the champagne lingering on his breath.
"Lynn."
"Yes?"she slowly tripped the buttons of the pale blue shirt she'd given him for his birthday.
"Never mind,"he took her hand leading her to the bedroom. Pulling his shirt off, their eyes met as she slid his belt out of his slacks loop for loop. She mischievously grinned as she reached to wrap the belt around his neck. Making sure it was secure but not too secure, she held it as she slightly brushed her lips with his before leading him to the bed. She released him and pressed him toward the bed as he held onto her with his collapsing body.
