Part I
"So what is it with you and Bri?"Erin approached her friend Rachel as he had left  her alone to refresh her drink.
"What do you mean?"
"Oh come Rach.  You can't tell me you haven't seen it.  He's all over your case.  When you say how high, he jumps."
"Don't you think that's a little extreme?"
"He went to get you a fresh drink and he hasn't left your side otherwise all night.  I've seen the way you look at him  too."
"I have not."
"You've got this lovestruck, starry eyed thing going on everytime he smiles."
"Shut up!"Rachel blushed.
"I think it's cute Rach.  I think you two would be great gettin all freaky and shit together.  Only problem is, he's got a girlfriend."
"Leave.  Now. Before I hurt you,"Rachel said nudging Erin to leave as Brian approached.
"Hey Brian,"Erin smiled.
"How's it goin?"He inquired handing Rachel her drink.
"I'm just fine.   I think I'm just gonna go and get myself another drink,"Erin excused herself.
"You don't have to rush off on my account.
"Yes I do,"she patted him on the shoulder and left  the two.
"What was that all about?"he turned back to Rachel.
"I don't know."
"You must.  She's got y'all three shades of red."
"It was nothing really."
"You know I'm gonna bug you until you tell me."
She nervously sipped her drink and cautiously looked into those twinkling blue eyes."You're gonna laugh."
"Try me."
"Erin thinks  you and I've got a thing for one another. Crazy, ain't it?"
He shifted his weight from one side to the other."I don't think so."
She almost choked on her drink as the words came from  his mouth.
"Do I not speak the truth?"
"Maybe on your part,"she lied.
"What about you?  You wouldn't be blushing unless,"he said catching himself mid sentence realizing the reason for the crimson shade of her features."Woah!" Attempting to ease the tension he said,"You're right Rach. What was she thinking anyway?"
"Yeah right.  We are just friends after all."
"Besides, I am a no good for nothing kind of guy.  What would your mother think?" He smiled and turned to leave her.
Damn him!  Oh wait a minute.  He's the good boy. He wouldn't cheat on his girlfriend.  Would he? "What would my Mother think?"
He turned back to her."It got your attention didn't it?"
"You can really be a pain in the ass sometimes."
"You haven't seen pain in the ass on me Rachel."
"Then prove it."
"Prove it?"
"If there's no chemistry between us then there shouldn't be a problem now should there?"She challenged.
He set his drink on the end table by the couch and followed suit with hers.  He then grabbed her hand and basically dragged her to a more secluded area of the house away from the party."Why here Bri? Afraid of public displays?"Rachel invited.
"Darlin',"He locked the door of the library."The world doesn't need to be seein' what's gonna happen between us."
"Why Brian,"she replied innocently." I thought we were just friends."
"We are but,"he languidly approached her."I think we should become,"his breath hot upon hers,"much closer,"grinning mischieviously,"friends,"his lips lightly brushing hers."Whatcha think?"
