| "He's late,"Simone said pacing nervously in front of the window. "You're gonna need new carpet,"Lisa remarked. "Is that supposed to be funny?" "No. What do you want Simone? Maybe things ran over a little tonight. It's not the end of the world you know. I'm not pacing because Nick hasn't called. It's just one of those things you have to learn to deal with girl. You should know that." "Kelly, he calls if he's even five minutes late. I know there's something wrong and if I'm trusting my hunches, Alex is behind it." "You assume way too much Simmee." "While you and Nick were gettin your freak on this weekend, Alex threatened to kill me. He knows Kelly. He's known since the day Kevin walked into my life and I wouldn't be surprised if he found a damn copy of my book and started using it against me." "How are you so sure he's using it against you?" "Marie." "The girl that was with him that day?" "Yes. I wrote about a girl named Marie in my book." "That doesn't mean anything." "I believe it does Kel. My heart is in that book. That was the one that broke me out, put me in the limelight. It's my baby." "I know Simone but it's like you're trying to dictate your life by it because of everything that's happened." "Kelly. Kevin's seen apparitions, the woman took over my body and I've been having these off the wall dreams about the lengths Alex discovered to destroy my relationship with Kevin." "You didn't tell me about the dreams." "Because I just started having them Kel. Kevin doesn't even know. He has enough to worry about. He has to work with a man he wants to kill with his own two hands because of what he did to me this weekend."
