"Is she here?"He anxiously inquired. It had been too long. All he wanted to do was take her in his arms, apologize for all the pain he had caused and pray that she would forgive him.
"Nice to see you too."
"I'm sorry. I just wish I'd never done this to her."
"You were only thinking of long term Kev. I think she understands."
"When did you two become so close?"
'"It's not what you think Kev. AJ tried getting me involved in some hairbrained scheme of his and I couldn't follow through with it. What I saw that night freaked me out though. Simone wasn't Simone."
"You mean?"
"You've seen something?"
"More than I'd like to. I just hope it's not too late. Where is she?"Kevin asked as he scanned the room for her.
"She was here just a minute ago."
"You left her alone with AJ in the room?"
"She wasn't alone. There is a party going on here."
"You don't understand. He'd rather have her dead than to suffer all her life."
"I don't get it. He has Marie."
"I know that and you know that but he thinks if he can't have her love as well then she shouldn't be able to have it at all. He knows she's still in love with me."
"How do you know she's still in love with you?"
"I just know. Is Marie around here somewhere?"he asked.
"Of course."
"He left her here alone?"
"You're surprised."
"No. I just need to find her. She's my key to saving Simone."
"I don't understand."
"I'll explain later."
"I thought it was romantic,"Alex snipped."Now get out of the car."
"No,"she defied.
"Don't make me come in after you."
"You'll have to drag me out of here kicking and screaming."
"That can be arranged,"he dragged her out of the vehicle by her beautiful golden curls. Once she pulled herself up from the ground he stated,"Now that I have your attention."
"You don't have anything that belongs to me."
"See, that's where you're wrong. I hold your life in my hands."
"You never answered my question Alex."
"I don't have to."
"How do you know about this place anyway?"she asked as he brusquely escorted her closer to the cliff's edge.
He didn't respond.
"Come on Alex. You obviously know about this place for a reason."
He stopped keeping a firm grip on her arm."That night you came out here with Kevin."
The realization struck her about the vacant vehicle when they pulled in that night.
"I watched the entire time. It actually broke my heart the first time I saw you two together Simone."
"You don't have a heart,"she sharply replied.
"I do though. Why do think I've put you through all this?"
"Because you think keeping us apart would be better than having to live with the pain of knowing you screwed up everyday."
"I have Marie now."
