Chapter 7
She dragged herself into the house expecting Kelly to be up waiting for all the juicy details of her date.
She saw the light on in the living room and looked at Kelly."So how was the date?"
"It wasn't a date."
"Yes it was.  You wouldn't have that look on your face if it wasn't."
"What look is that?"
"I got me some."
"You wish,"she replied; brushing the statement off.
"Well something happened or you wouldn't look so damn confused."
"You know how I believe in all that destiny/fate stuff?"
"Yes."
"We kissed and something connected.  It was like I was seeing somebody else's life but it was my body there."
"Okay Simmee, you've been living in a fantasy world too long."
"I'm not crazy Kel.  I saw him there too.  I saw this man. This man I wrote about in Forever Yours. Kevin was this man.  He is my fate or whatever you wanna call it.  I'm not sure if it's gonna follow the same path but so far the signs are pointing in that direction."
"Hold  up.  You kissed him?"
"Yeah. So?"
"So?"she raised her brow expectantly.
"Oh come on Kel."
"I tell you about the good ones."
"What if he wasn't?"
"Then you'd be lying through your teeth woman.  I know you too well. You've been my best friend forever.  You never were very good at lying except when it came to your profession."
"I ran out of there like a thirteen year old girl that had just gotten her first kiss Kel.  He'll never speak to me again."
"Oh he'll talk to you again."
"I told him I have a boyfriend."
"Now that's where you screwed up."
"Don't remind me.  I've been kicking myself all the way home."
"Speaking of boyfriends, yours called about ten times tonight looking for you."
"Surprise, Surprise."
"You're not gonna call him?"
"I'll call him when I'm damn good and ready to.  He's gonna learn I don't jump just because he says to."
It's about time you got some backbone where he's concerned girl.  So about that kiss?"
"I have never felt anything like it in my life Kel.  Unbelievable.  Why'd I leave?"
"Because according to your little kick on fate, you were supposed to and if you are supposed to meet up again, then you will. Don't worry about it Simmee.   I know things'll work out for you."
"I guess so but,"she hesitated as the phone rang.
"You wanna get that?"
"I'll take care of it,"she responded."Hello?"
"Open the door Simone,"his voice boomed.
"It's late Alex.  Go home and we'll talk in the morning."
"No. We'll talk now."
"You think this is a negotiation Alex?  It's late. Go home.  I'm tired."
"Then why is your light still on my love?"
"Because I was just getting ready to head there.  Now go home."
"I'm not leaving til I see you."
"Fine,"she digressed and headed toward the front door with the cordless in hand.  She opened the door and was rudely pushed aside as he strode through the house."Nice to see you too,"she commented under her breath as she followed him.
"Where is he?"he inquired as he turned to her.
"Where is who?"
"Don't play games with me Simone. Where is your date?"
"I  had no date.  I had dinner with my manager,"she lied.
"That kept you out until midnight?"
"I don't have to tell you every little move I make.  We drank a little and that was it.  We lost track of the time."
"You're not telling me the truth.  Where were you?"
