Chapter 9
"This is nice,"Simone commented as she strode toward the cliff with Kevin following shortly behind.
"Why don't you come back here to the blanket?"He beckoned.
"Why?"
"Just call it a hunch,"he responded.
"If you'll feel more comfortable,"she made her way back toward him.  As she placed herself upon the blanket, she remarked,"This was a good idea."
"I've been meaning to ask you something,"he diverted the subject.
"Sure."
"I don't know.  Seems rather crazy to be quite honest."
"You'll never know if you don't ask."
"Okay.  You know the things you write about?"
"Fate, destiny, past lives.  Those kinds of things?"
"Yes.  I've been wondering if you believe in that yourself?  Some writers will go off on a kick and not really believe in their stories but I get the distinct feeling you're one of those rare few that actually believes in their work.  Am I wrong?"
"I believe in it but what is it you're wanting to know exactly?"
"I guess what I'm getting at is when we kissed.  I saw something that night that quite frankly scared the hell out of me.  I mean it was me but I saw you there too only it wasn't here and now."
"So in essence what you're wanting to know is did anything happen to me?"
"Did it?"
"I thought I was going crazy. That's why I ran out of there like a confused little schoolgirl."
"Amongst other reasons."
"Well that reason is slowly proving to find distance."
"Does he know?"
"I'm planning on telling him soon."
"In the meantime?"he inquired; moving onto the opposing side of the blanket next to her.
"Is it necessary for you to be so close to me?"
"You haven't answered my question and yes, it is necessary.  I like being this close to you."
She did want him to be this close to him perhaps not this soon though.  Just let fate take it's course she reminded herself."In the meantime, I'm taking it one day at a time."
"Meaning?"
"If you get any closer to me, "she responded; his breath exceedingly warm upon her lips in the cold night air.
"What?" he mischieviously inquired.
God his eyes even sparkled in the moonlight."I forget."
"You forget?"
"Where am I?"she inquired.
"Simone?" he asked quizzically.
" 'Tis me Master Colin."
Disbelief controlled his movements.  He withdrew from his position frantically.  He'd never moved so quickly.  Not even on stage."Who are you and what have you done with her?"
"I am Lady Symonne.  I am  your beloved,"she spoke the works flowing from Simone's mouth as she moved toward him."You move from me with such disdain Master."
"Not hatred.  Fear.  What have you done with her?"
"With whom?  I am but the only one in your presence Colin."
"Why do you keep calling me that?"
"Are you not Master Colin?  The one that gives of me the moon and stars from the heavens?"
"I am not who you think I am.  Give her back to me.  Please,"he begged as he backed into the parked vehicle.
"He is coming for me.  You must save me,"she spoke her final words as Simone slumped to the ground in front of him.  He lifted her limp form from the ground. "God Simone!  Please wake up!"he spoke with frenzied encouragement."Simone!   Please!  Wake up!"
Her eyes fluttered open with disorientation.  She looked up at him; her eyes half glazed over."What happened?"
"Are you okay?"he held her up straight.
"I think so.  What happened?"
