Oldiemeister´s

Ultimate WWW-Oldies-Hitparade !

Hi friends and fellow oldies lovers, here's once again the latest edition of your

Ultimate WWW-Oldies-Hitparade!

now based on more than 1.450 entries.

Before anything else, here's the latest: We have a new No. 1!! After months at the top spot, the Five Satins finally had to make room for the Animals and their "House of the Rising Sun" - exactly 34 years after they reached No. 1 for the first time in the British charts (11JUL1964)! Coincidence?? Is it the British Invasion all over again? Well, let's wait and see, right here on the Oldies But Goldies site! Thanks once again to everyone who cared to send me his or her favorites until now. If you have not yet sent me your personal favorite oldies, you can still do it and make these charts still more representative! If you have only sent me some of your favorite titles, I invite you to please write again. You can vote up to 50 different titles! So keep e-mailing me your favorites!

As you know, any title you like can be voted, not only the ones mentioned here. The only conditions are the following:

- It has to be a commercial record, no demo versions
- Released anywhere in the World between 1950 and 1979
- Rock'n'Roll, Pop, C&W, Soul, Beat or other popular music

(*) denotes that there is a soundbite of the title available. If you would like to hear a specific title, please let me know and I will try to include it, provided disk space and time allow it. All soundbites are in "Real Audio" format. If you do not yet have a Real Audio Player, you can get it right here, just click on the icon

If you want to listen to some full-length Rock'n'Roll Oldies, also in Real Audio Format, check out

Enough chat, here we go once again, folks!

The Animals have finally dethroned the Five Satins! Will there be any reaction from the Satins-Fans? Watch the outcome of this "battle" between continents right here on your OLDIES BUT GOLDIES channel...

Shooting stars of this edition, however, are the Four Seasons with "Sherry", who climbed from # 78 to # 21! Not anymore listed are well-known groups and artists, such as Frankie Ford and Frankie Lymon & The Teenagers. Can they make a comeback or are they gone for good? Check out how your favorite oldie is doing!

In case you want to see "your" artist or title at a higher position or even the no. 1 spot, it is actually very easy: Just send me your personal favorites by e-mail! You can send just one or two titles as well as a list of up to 50 oldies, if you want to. If you do not know the singer or group, don´t worry, I will look it up. All inputs will be considered as soon as possible. Therefore, please make sure to come back from time to time to see the latest version of this hitparade. Thank you for participating! Take care...and do not forget:

"Rock on" and "Oldies Forever"!
