Nine of Cups _______________________________________________________ 9 of Cups Now, tell me, does this guy look content, serene, and wholly self-satisfied? Replete is the message portrayed by the figure whose posture and countenance suggests emotional stability, comfort, happiness, harmony, and contentment. However, his body posture suggests something quite different. His crossed arms and splayed legs suggest not only wariness, but defensiveness as well. Has he closed himself off from the world to hoard his resources? Or is his guarded posture a husbanding of what he has and what he has to offer? In my tarot system Cups: Water-emotions; the ability to empathize, the ability to understand the intangible, the spiritual. Keywords: subjective, sentiment, passions, feelings, response, intensity, love, family, comforts, food and drink, moodiness, sensual pleasures, self-indulgence, wanderlust, artistic temperament, dreaminess, dependencies, nurturing. Nine's are indicative of quality and contentment/integration. I see the overriding message of the 9 of Nines as being: Over-extension of energies invariable results in emotional exhaustion and physical depletion. Learn to honour limits and set inviolable boundaries. Take care of self first and curb the tendency to be everything to everyone. It is sometimes necessary to be heartless to have heart for others needs and wants. Self needs to be placed foremost. It's in the cards! __________________________________________________ Featured Cards
