Welcome to my commentary page. I can almost guarantee that this page will be controversial and maybe piss some people off, so be it. I will be exercising my first ammendment rights guarenteed to us all. I will be "reporting" stories of bad cops, judges, and politicians of all types and yes, I will also take on the media. Now, I do NOT claim to be another Rush Limbaugh or Glenn Beck but, I do see things there way sometimes. I am a proud Republican but, my views are not that of the party or any Republican linked to the party, they are my views and takes on life. With that said let's begin. |
1/31/08 Where is our country headed????!!!!! This piece I can guarantee will piss the most people off, I don't give a shit. I constantly hear people saying our economy is going in the toilet, no shit. Now can enyone tell me why? No? Well I'll tell ya, the last several years corporate America is finally catching up with itself. When NAFTA started corporate America saw a goldmine. Why, do ya say? Well let's look at it closely. First, large corporations bailed out of the country for cheaper labor and basically no insurance and workmans comp payments. Sure the corporate office and a few factories remain open but downsizing has jumped by leaps and bounds. Unemployment has run rampant and that drops the value of the dollar so other countries won't invest in our currency. Everytime the dollar value decreases the more other countries stay away from investing in our ecomomy. Decreasing dollar value and inflation mean people need more money to buy things. Corporations are unwilling to pay the higher wages, so they downsize some more to cut costs which creates more unemployment in favor of overseas employment. This cuts the dollar more. Now add in, that the government needs to spend more money because it takes more dollars to pay for things such as foriegn policies (wars, peace keeping, nation building, etc.), domestic policies (national security, infrastructure, national disasters, etc.) and paying special intrest groups who want money for bullshit ideas (ex. Woodstock museum in New York which Sen. Clinton wanted.) . Now special intrest groups pay lobyists who pay congressmen to vote for this crap. Don't think for one minute they are on your side. They talk a good game only because they want your vote but, if you don't fall within a special interests realm you won't get shit. Sorry let me retract that, you will get something, a handshake a smile and a knife in the back when they get in office. They raise taxes of the middle class (AMT tax) to fund the special interests and other needless spending. They will claim it's about the people but, which people, not the ones who need it. Politics in our country have changed as well. Republicans were for less government and Democrats were for more (nanny state). Democrats think we can't take care of ourselves so they want to rule every aspect of our life while Republicans used to think we can. NOT ANY LONGER!!!!! Now we got Republicans like George Bush and John McCain. These people want illegal imigration and will grant immunity and fight against border restrictions every chance they get. This adds to unemployment and drops the value of the dollar and creates recession. Not to forget, problems with more people without insurance so hospitals have problems, and insurance companies increase rates to cover hospital losses because they charge higher rates to insurance companies to cover their losses. People who earn less that $50,000 pay outragious taxes and have a hard time making ends meet and low income people and elderly (fixed income) people can't eat and pay for medical supplies. Now that covers point one. Point two, the housing market. Okay, we are hearing about subprime mortgages all the time. Well the banks and mortgage companies thought they could get away with something here. They created their own nightmare by charging nice introductory rates that rollover into outragious rates noone could pay. Well that means people lose their home which increases the assets of the company or bank. With too many assets they pay more to the government. Now the banks can't get rid of the homes so they must lose money to get rid of it. This causes them to writeoff billions of dollars and they must selloff assets at much lower prices creating more writeoffs and so on. Then the government must bail them out by cutting interest rates to offset the writeoffs. Now cutting interest rates means what to us, let me tell ya. Other countries investing in our markets will again bail out because they won't make money here. This drives the dollar down farther causing problems because banks pay interest to our savings at better levels than what they are bringing in from loans. This forces banks to ask the government to cut interest rates on savings accounts and bond rates. The more they lose in loans the more interst has to be cut to offset loses and the cycle begins again. With less money being earned less money gets invested causing the stockholders to sell off stock to make back losses. The stockmarket drops no country will invest because again, they make no money. Now the government has to increase tariffs on imports, driving prices up. Other governments must pay more to export which causes them to lose money. Then they must do bail outs and they have the same problems so they increase their import tarriffs which means we pay more to export products. That means companies lose money again causing downsizing. Now we come back to the beginning. Where does that leave the American people, in the shitter. The government spends money for more and more dumb projects and must charge more taxes which, we can't afford. That brings us to where we are today. The government must come up with some temporary stimulous package to boost the economy but, instead of spending the money people save it to pay bills or pay for healthcare. The economy does not get stimulated and we slip farther in the hole. This brings us to the point, where is the government and how do the candidates fit in. We have a country run by a constitution, the last time I looked. Run by the people, for the people, and of the people. WRONG! Since corporate America has been incharge, it is run by the corporations, for the corporations, by the corporations. "We the people" (preamble of the constitution for those who forgot) , get screwed. Where is our government through all this? Too busy fighting eachother to worry about anything else or too busy spending money on stupid shit to care. With nothing being done to fix the problems, we slide down the hole. With spending trillions a year with no end in sight we must get buyouts from places like China. They not only have most of our jobs but own most of our economy because of loans they buy up. Face it, China owns us and most people don't know it. The government and the media won't talk about it but it IS true. Congress can't get their heads out of their asses long enough to get together and fix the problems. This is how Washington works. Now to our candidates. First Hillary, she has some of the most crazy ways to spend money it isn't funny. Just look at the example I gave. That is small potatoes compared to some ideas she has. She believes in controling every aspect of our society, if I'm not mistaken Hitler had the same ideas. Political social studies in my high school called it Socialism. Are we going to be a Socialist society? Obama isn't much better he is just about as Socialistic. We can pretty much count Edwards out, he has a snowballs chance to win. We got John McCain, a former POW and career politician. I respect his POW status and hold high regard for it but, with that aside he would not be good for us. He is apart of the new Republican GOP, who has turned their back on the old republican values of less government and protecting our nation. He fights against imigration legislation, will grant immunity to tens of millions of illegals and fights to protect our borders. He plans on spending trillions of dollars on foriegn policy and is weak on domestic issues. To me he is a sellout to the old Reagan GOP types who ran this country well. As for Mitt Romney, he does go by the old Republican values but I don't see him winning the bid. That would be the WRONG MOVE for this country. Personally, I don't fall for this "oh he is religous" bullshit. SO WHAT, so was JFK and GWB. Hell, we had Freemasons as president and we're still here. So religion has not a damn thing to do with it. Everyone else has the same chance as Edwards so I won't go there. So the choice is upto the people of this great country. We can go down the path of Germany in 1941-45 or we can stay a free and able bodied society who wants government out of our pockets and out of our homes. THE CHOICE IS OURS, WE BETTER MAKE IT GOOD OR THIS COUNTRY WILL NEVER BE THE SAME AGAIN. |
2-7-08 Next Generation Flower Children This came to me from Military.com: Judge: No Sonar Exemption for Navy Associated Press | February 05, 2008 LOS ANGELES - The Navy must follow environmental laws placing strict limits on sonar training that may harm whales, despite President Bush's decision to exempt it, a federal judge ruled Feb. 4. The Navy is not "exempted from compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act" and a court injunction creating a 12 nautical-mile no-sonar zone off Southern California, U.S. District Judge Florence-Marie Cooper wrote in a 36-page decision. "We disagree with the judge's decision," White House spokesman Tony Fratto said. "We believe the orders are legal and appropriate." The president signed a waiver Jan. 15 exempting the Navy and its anti-submarine warfare exercises from a preliminary injunction creating the no-sonar zone. The Navy's attorneys argued in court last week that he was within his legal rights. Environmentalists have fought the use of sonar in court, saying it harms whales and other marine mammals. "It's an excellent decision," said Joel Reynolds, attorney for the Natural Resources Defense Council, which is spearheading the legal fight. "It reinstates the proper balance between national security and environmental protection." The Navy last week wrapped up a training exercise by the carrier strike group of the USS Abraham Lincoln in which sonar was used. There are currently no task force training exercises off the coast of California using sonar. When he signed the exemption, Bush said complying with the law would "undermine the Navy's ability to conduct realistic training exercises that are necessary to ensure the combat effectiveness of carrier and expeditionary strike groups." Said Reynolds: "I've always felt that the president's actions were illegal in this case, and the judge has affirmed that point of view with the decision today." The judge also wrote that she has "significant concerns about the constitutionality of the President's exemption," but that a ruling based on constitutionality was not needed to reinstate the injunction. A three-judge panel of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco had been expected to rule on the future of the Navy exercises last month. After Bush's decision, the appeals court sent the issue to the U.S. District Court in Los Angeles for reconsideration. Navy spokeswoman Lt. Cmdr. Cindy Moore did not say what the military's next legal move may be. Government attorneys can appeal Cooper's decision to the 9th Circuit or could ask the appeals court to allow sonar exercises until the appeal is resolved. Scientists have said that loud sonar can damage the brains and ears of marine mammals, and that it may mask the echoes some whales and dolphins listen for when they use their own natural sonar to locate food. The Navy maintains that it already minimizes risks to marine life and has employed sonar for decades without seeing any whale injuries. The sonar is essential for tracking submarines, it said. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Now, What in the hell are these jackasses thinking about? Didn't Dec. 7, 1941 teach these nut bags anything? Five Japanese mini-subs snuck into Pearl Harbor because there was no sonar. It was only luck they didn't do more damage. With tensions between China and us high, and terrorists just begging for another crack at us, we're going to give them the chance??!! Come on, give me a break, with this kind of stupidity we may as well roll out the red carpet and say "here you go, wipe out San Fran, Oakland, and LA with your nuclear armed Soviet subs." This ruling has to go down as the dumbest move the government has come up with in the last 100 years. It goes down as being as dumb as telling parents you can't spank or discipline your children because it's abuse. Then the little bastards go and take guns to school and kill people, then turn around and blame the parents for not taking control of the situation before hand. Are we voting in braindead people to run the government? Are those same braindead politicians approving braindead judges to rule the judicial branch? Think about it, as long as the environmentalists line the pockets of politicians not one person in this country is safe. It won't be enemy forces killing us, it will be the politicians and judges who allow them to do it. If this is what they think National Security is we would be better off putting a gun to our own heads. |
8/12/08: Media bias less than tolerable, to say the least.... Ok it took awhile to get to this point but now that I'm here I'll swing for the fence. Oh, and did I mention that these are MY opinions so, if you agree fine if not so be it? I don't care either way. So much for the disclaimer crap. The story lately is "MEDIA IS ANTI-ANYTHING". I am so tired of how the libs in media have taken news to a whole new level. Before, if it didn't involve blood, guts, or murder it was not considered news worthy, or it was burried on a back page somewhere. Now it seems that tabloid shit has hit mainstream media. People dying in Iraq and Afganistan or Darfur is not newsworthy anymore so what have they done? Let's pick the Olympics apart. Does anyone know who won gold medals? Did anyone applaud the drum corp at the opening ceremonies? Did anyone mention the girls gymnastics team scored just below China on the opening of the event? The answer to all questions is NO. The libs are more concerned about the Chinese faking shit. Who friggin cares, it was fun to watch. If you don't like CGI or special effect to make a good product then don't spend the lousy 8 bucks to watch a stinkin movie. Hollywood has so much effect in it you may as well get rid of the actors and just use CGI (Beowolf for ex.). I didn't hear no negative crap about that movie. Oh, and forget the good news clips, they aren't news worthy. According to the media who cares that some kid saved the life of some elderly person from a fire, they care more that people died in the stinkin fire. I truly wish the founding fathers were here today to see how we ran this great country into the friggin ground. They must be rollin in the grave. Corruption from the President down to the scumbag who mugs little old ladies. Marxist beliefs in the democratic party running wild, Ron Reagan would be so proud of the politics today. Hell why let the Russians, Chinese, Cubans, and French have all the fun. Let Russia be the old USA and the USA be the old Russia. Ban churches, imprison priests and teachers, endorse political assassinations, does this sound familiar? North Vietnamese communists did it in the 60's and 70's. Oh but we forget history and the media stands by and endorses it. Do they not remember that media had a field day before they were told to only put on what the government said was acceptable or be thrown in jail? Gotta love the media, they shoot themselves in the foot and the head at the same time and are too stupid to know it. |
8/20/08 Where are the econuts now? By now everyone has heard of the baby whale in Australia who goes around nursing on boats. Apparently the baby lost his mother and is not old enough to be wheened yet. For the whole story click here. I must say the ending is not surprising, after all when PETA, Greenpeace, and all the other ecowhores have the chance to show the world what they really stand for, they say that it is too much like work and turn a blind eye. PETA is more worried about what people eat than real issues. Greenpeace would rather tie themselves to a tree or worry about how radar effects whales off the coast of California than save one. Here the eco-whackos could really stand up and finally do what they say instead of getting free handouts on the taxpayers expense. Oh, and watch out the global warming nuts will blame it all on the ozone layer being depleted or too much carbon dioxide in the air which is melting Antarctica that caused the baby whale to lose it's mother. It kills me that the envirokooks actually turned down a suggestion to help by saying it's too much trouble to do anything about it and to leave it up to nature. They said the same thing years back about deer hunting. "Don't kill deer, they're better off starving to death when they over populate or when there is nothing to eat in the winter." heard that so many times it might as well be tatooed to my forehead so they can read it back to me every once and a while. Not to mention that it's baaaaad to eat bambi. I look at it this way, until they actually mean and do what they preach, I'll shot and gut Bambi after cuttting down half the rain forest to build the fire to cook him and thank God for the bounty he placed before me. I'll even be nice enough to invite the econuts over for dinner. |
9/4/08 Media bias and liberals out of control... I have seen some low down tactics in politics but to attack someones family is the lowest. Liberals are really bottom feeding scum suckers if they think that attacking politicians children is acceptable. There has been attacks on the adopted daughter of John McCain and now attacking the children of Sarah Palin. I heard no such attacks against the Democrat candidates families by the media. It seems that the media knows no bounds or limits to bad ethics when these reports are released. Half truths are just as bad as lies, take Jim Kuhnhenn's report below. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080904/ap_on_el_pr/cvn_fact_check I'll discuss some of the half truths he uses to make a good story. 1) "As mayor of Wasilla, Palin hired a lobbyist and traveled to Washington annually to support earmarks for the town totaling $27 million. In her two years as governor, Alaska has requested nearly $750 million in special federal spending, by far the largest per-capita request in the nation. While Palin notes she rejected plans to build a $398 million bridge from Ketchikan to an island with 50 residents and an airport, that opposition came only after the plan was ridiculed nationally as a 'bridge to nowhere.' " And the point being what? Every Mayor has a lobyist or goes through their congress person to request earmarks. I don't see anything wrong with $27 million for her town. Keeping up with infrastructure or civic improvements can chew up that money in a few months. What was the special funding for? This is not disclosed, without that information there is no basis to form a judgement. Oh, the bridge thing, here is a good one. Like no other politician has ever changed their mind on an issue before. I like that a "bridge to nowhere", I thought it just said it was to go to an island of 50 people and an airport. Sounds like it was going somewhere to me. I don't blame her for rejecting it due to rising building costs at the time. What do they expect, bankrupt a town over a bridge project? 2)"Compared to McCain and his two decades in the Senate, Obama does have a more meager record. But he has worked with Republicans to pass legislation that expanded efforts to intercept illegal shipments of weapons of mass destruction and to help destroy conventional weapons stockpiles. The legislation became law last year. To demean that accomplishment would be to also demean the work of Republican Sen. Richard Lugar of Indiana, a respected foreign policy voice in the Senate. In Illinois, he was the leader on two big, contentious measures in Illinois: studying racial profiling by police and requiring recordings of interrogations in potential death penalty cases. He also successfully co-sponsored major ethics reform legislation." Authoring an amendment or bill is not the same as co-sponsoring one. Co-sponsoring only adds their name to it and requires no work. Sen. Lugar did all the work while Obama simply added his name to it. Again he co-sponsored ethics reform. He wrote nothing in the bill. 3)The Tax Policy Center, a think tank run jointly by the Brookings Institution and the Urban Institute, concluded that Obama's plan would increase after-tax income for middle-income taxpayers by about 5 percent by 2012, or nearly $2,200 annually. McCain's plan, which cuts taxes across all income levels, would raise after tax-income for middle-income taxpayers by 3 percent, the center concluded. With the economy in poor condition, more taxes on more items than in the history of the nation, and rising prices in food and fuel (gas and heating), I'd sooner pay 3% over 5% any day of the week. These tax increases would only be the beginning if Obama was in office. Notice health care was not included in the taxes listed? 4)He also would raise income taxes, capital gains and dividend taxes on the wealthiest. He would raise payroll taxes on taxpayers with incomes above $250,000, and he would raise corporate taxes. Small businesses that make more than $250,000 a year would see taxes rise. This is a good idea, that way the employers would need to cut back on employment and raise unemployment while also scaling back on inventories which cuts exports (which has been keeping the economy afloat for the last year.) Then we can also kill small businesses like the mom and pop businesses making people think twice about starting one and hiring unemployed people which would be layed off from big corporations. This has to be the best idea for growing our recessive economy I have ever heard of. Wish I thought of that. 5)While governors are in charge of their state guard units, that authority ends whenever those units are called to actual military service. When guard units are deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan, for example, they assume those duties under "federal status," which means they report to the Defense Department, not their governors. Alaska's national guard units have a total of about 4,200 personnel, among the smallest of state guard organizations. I agree that when the troops are activated to go over sees by the President they do fall under federal control but in times of natural disaster or to assist law enforcement the control belongs to the governor and NOT the fed. Obama has not had authority over 1 guard member anywhere so Palin has 4,200 times more experience, if we want to be technical and petty. 6) A whopper. Palin got 616 votes in the 1996 mayor's election, and got 909 in her 1999 re-election race, for a total of 1,525. Biden dropped out of the race after the Iowa caucuses, but he still got 76,165 votes in 23 states and the District of Columbia where he was on the ballot during the 2008 presidential primaries. This one is good, if we look at the scale of this it is correct. A town votes for a mayor and a nation votes for President. More people in her town voted her mayor than the nation voted for Biden. If the nation voted for the mayor of her town then Biden, it could be said, did get more votes. I could go on but I think my point is made. Those who would look at the truth instead of believing half truths can see it. I feel sorry for those who refuse to see farther than their noses. This is why our country is in the shape it's in, too much politics and bureaucracy and help from the media. |
