Below is an excerpt from my description posted to ACS LotR Costuming Group.
-Neckline is much too low. But I like it anyway. -Skirt is not full enough...But I made it out of scraps...so I didn't exactly have a lot to work with. You can see quite clearly that it is much too narrow in the front. -Sleeves are just not right...but then again, see above. -It's lined in gold stuff...should be more cream...but, work with what you have. -Necklace is actually silver...lighting in the pics is weird... -Belt...coloring not right...but I made it more to match the necklace, which actually has a black stone...and I liked the designs...if I had done them in gold...well...gold on silver doesn't exactly show up very well... Ok so it's not the most exact...but I kind of like it anyway....and the first pic makes me look er...wasted...lol...but that's ok, it's for the dress. :-) On with a quick description of construction details. -Drafted the pattern...it's princess seamed. -Only things I bought were the gold rope trim for the sleeve lacing things and the decorative trim on the neck. The sleeve cap trim is white yarn zig zag stitched in yellow thread. -Belt took me a while. I made fourteen discs total (instead of the 24; I have a considerably small waist). I made them out of carboard, spray painted silver, drew designs on in black, threaded them onto a wire, attached the wire to a band of white fabric...has double lacing in the back and of course the end that hangs down in front...gold fabric paint for design on front tail thing. -The fabric is a heavy cream cotton material...that was left over from a previous project. I only had a little bit left...not enough to make the whole dress, but enough to make something that looked kind of like it...used some gold metallic stuff for inside lining and voila...
