Hopewell Farm is 20 acres of gently rolling land located in town, Heaven Sent. Its 9 barns serve as homes to stallions, broodmares, foals and yearlings who will be/are/have been racehorses. Exercise pavilions enable Aaron Moss, the owner of this establishment, to prepare yearlings for sale and maintain the stallion’s conditioning.

(Mare Pasture) (Barren Mare Facility)

Hopewell’s Barn 4 serves as the foaling barn. During the foaling season, farm hands staff this barn and supervise all foalings. In late November of each year, all mares not in foal are moved to Barn 6 which serves as Hopewell’s barren mare facility. Hopewell is proud of its record in getting barren mares in foal during the breeding season following their placement in this facility.

A separate building houses all hay and straw. This reduces the danger of fire in one of the barns and the possible injury to horses.

Dr. Kirsten Dorene is Hopewell’s on-call veterinarian providing needed care for all horses at Hopewell. Dr. Durene's hospital is located 5 miles from Hopewell where horses can be taken if they require care that cannot be given at the farm. Farriers, dentists and others regularly visit Hopewell assuring that all horses receive the highest level of care.

Because Hopewell is a breeding stable, there may be studs here that are not owned by the farm. Please be polite and think of this when you are touring the barns.
