| With HSC: Since begininning Concert Pieces Written: 9 Works in Progress: 2 Editors: Alex Snyder, Kate Jackson Music History: Dom first took an interest in music when he was nine. He started on the b flat trumpet in a class of 8 students. He continued to learn music and rose to the top of his class. When he moved on to middle school, he began the French Horn (his primary instrument) in grade 7. He started in the September of 2000 and made the Regional State Band the January of 2001. He placed fifth chair with 125/300 points. Over the year, he imporved his skill. At the next Regional State try-out, he made 3rd chair with 185/300 points, improving his score 50 points. His first piece, The Storm, gained concert status when Memorial Ensemble Band played it at the annual Spring Concert on May 8, 2002. The piano solo accompanying the band piece also attained concert status when it was played it at a piano recital June 21, 2002 flawlessly. He is the only composer of this site to have his songs played in concert. |
