A unique phenomenon in the modern world,which drew over ten million pilgrims from the whole world into this rocky and unknown western-Herzegovinian village,Medjugorje is not the product of human effort.Everything that man made here during thousands of years is hardly worth mentioning.Medjugorje is not important geographically or historically,its importance lies in its spiritual,religious and sociological meaning.People don't flood into Medjugorje becouse of it's natural beauty or famous monuments erected by men,but becouse of their own needs,searching,disappointments,fatique,illness and hope.Medjugorje is thus the place where man meets his true self,his essence,his disposition,his purpose in life.It is also the place where he meets the reality of everything that surrounds him. In Medjugorje man becomes aware of his minority and opens up towards his fullness.People have only one need:to be loved.People who come to Medjugorje feel they are loved.Much of that love comes to them through others:through those they meet in Medjugorje and those who receive them there.

Medjugorje is a place where people meet in hope,conscious that they know what they believe in and who they depend on.That hope unites them in the certain expectation that their possible will become real,just as buds turn into leaves and flowers into fruit;that this corruptible body must be chloted with incorruptubility,this mortal body with immortability.The pilgrims in Medjugorje are the witnesses and heralds of hope for the whole world.In short:as a phenomenon unique in the world,Medjugorje was not created by men.Without the work of truth, love,hope and faith,there would be no pilgrims or anything else that makes Medjugorje special and unrepeatable.

Here are some announcements in connection with the prayer program in the shrine of the Queen of Peace in Medjugorje.Daily prayer program starts with praying the Rosary at 6:00p.m.and Holly mass at 7:00 p.m. After that follows the the blessing prayers and the third part of the Rosary(Glorious mysterious) English mass is at 10 a.m. every day expect Sunday when the mass is at 12 a.m. The rosary is prayed on Apparition Hill on Sundays at 3:00 pm. and the way of the cross on Friday at 3:00 pm. on cross mountain. Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament takes place after the evening mass on Thursday and from 10-11 pm every Wednesday and Sturday. Opportunity for holy confessions is provided everyday during the evening prayer program.
