to March 4th 2005
Implementation Engineer and Site responsible
Colombia Movil GSM PCS project, Coast Zone
Primary function was the supervision of the correct installation
of the Base transceiver equipment, feeder (7/8” and 1 5/8”) mounting with click
on hangers and grounding, antenna installation, Tower mount amplifiers (TMA),
alarm and PCM wiring and power supply to racks. Test cable feeders with Anritsu
Site Master (VSWR, distance to fault, Return loss, antenna coupling).
This
installation is done by a group of four technicians which follows my
recommendations and the Technical Site Survey (TSS). Assert quality and
neatness of installation work and emphasizes safety and proper installation
procedures and standards.
Perform
visual check after the installation to make sure it is correct and in
accordance to site survey. Later the commissioning and integration of Base
Transceiver Station and Transmission equipment have to be done. Modifications
and upgrade of the equipment can be done by installing new modules according to
customer needs.
The
secondary function is to perform acceptance test to the BTS with a customer
engineer and submit the proper documentation and files of the equipment
installation following the form standard. Test calls with Ericsson TEMS phone
must be done to verify the equipment operational status, assigned channels,
cell handover, GPRS performance, etc.
Also I have
experienced with BSC and TRAU equipment installation, commissioning, acceptance
and integration jobs taking care on the client needs and requirements.
The network
has grown rapidly, so upgrades have to be performed. This means the
installation of new modules and sites.
This is done with NOC coordination to verify equipment database configuration
and parameters.
Also
equipment maintenance is done when equipment malfunctioning is reported by the NOC, repairing it as soon
as possible with a short reaction time.
