Welcome!
|
The KTRA welcomes responsible riders to join them for rides in
Southeastern Ontario. We have members from all disciplines,
living from Brockville to Napanee, Howe Island to Portland,
who host rides on public and private land, in the months of
May, June, September and October. Each time a member hosts a ride,
a donation of $25 is given in their name to either the Humane
Society or Equine Rescue.
|
Unsure if you are ready for trail riding? Do you need advice
on what to look for in a trailer, how to train your horse for
trails, or how to teach your horse to load? Need a quiet
companion horse to help you through your first training rides?
We have members willing and able to help you and your horse
progress in a safe and stress-free manner, and our Guidelines
will assure you that others will ride responsibly around you.
|
Newsletters, ride schedules, meetings and potluck
get-togethers keep members informed and involved.
Your horse is not ready yet? If you are an experienced
rider, you can lease a horse for a ride from one of our
members!
|
The goals of the KTRA are to preserve trails, to promote
responsible horsemanship, and to participate in wonderful
trail rides. Some of the other benefits of the KTRA are
meeting and riding with friends, and having access to a
network of information and advice from a broad spectrum
of equestrian backgrounds.
|
To become a member of the KTRA, you must agree to read and
follow the KTRA Guidelines, and for liability reasons you
must be 18 years or older. You will be required to sign a
liability release, and pay $20 per year ($25 family). Each
guest must also follow the Guidelines, sign the release and
pay $5 per ride. A safe trailer is mandatory, but we can
help get your horse ready for trails.
