Texas Chainsaw Massacre Related Films | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
This is a section of Leatherface's BBQ Shack that will never be complete. This is a list and brief description of movies that have something to do with The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. If you know of any other TCM-related films that deserve some recognition, please email me and let me know so I can add it here. Enjoy! |

All American Massacre (2000/2001) This movie, directed by Tobe Hooper's son William Hooper, is a tribute film to TCM! Rumors suggest that a prequel to Chainsaw and it features characters like Hitchhiker and Grandpa. I am looking forward to this film and will update this as soon as I buy it. Go to their web site. I recieved and email from Stu Carney, the AAM publicist and he gave me information about the film. Click here to read it! |

Amazing Stories: Miss Stardust (TV-1987) In this episode of the short-lived Amazing Stories TV series, Jim Siedow (Old Man) stars and Tobe Hooper directs! However, I have not been able to find this on video. It is not on any of the Amazing Stories video comps that I've seen. If you know where to get this, please email me. Thanks. |

American Nightmare (2000) I actually haven't seen this film, but I ran across it on the internet and found this sound clip from the movie where a radio DJ is talking about The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Edward Gein. Download the clip here or you can go the movie site here. |

American Psycho (2000) This extremely shitty adaptation of Bret Easton Ellis' classic novel of murder among the rich is not worth seeing. However, it does contain TCM-related sequences. It mentions Edward Gein and contains chainsaws, but it's listed here because Patrick Bateman, played by Christian Bale, watches the ending of Texas Chainsaw Massacre while working out in one sequence, but the sound from the hook scene is used. |

Freakshow (1995) This movie is shit, in so many words. It's not worth a damn. Horrible script, horrible acting, horrible dialogue. Don't watch this. Gunnar Hansen is burdened with the role of the "Freakmaster" and he tells a teenage couple spooky stories. |

Future-Kill (1985) If you've heard of this film, it's probably only because it's used TCM as a boost from day one. Edwin Neal (Hitchhiker) and Marilyn Burns (Sally) star together in this futuristic sci-fi horror thriller... a pathetic one at that! The boring plot goes like this: Splatter (Neal) and his "loving" wife, Dorthy (Burns) are in an anti-nuclear activist group. When some college students stumble into Splatter's territory, they unknowingly have walked into a death trap. This film lacks class and the slightest bit of entertainment. Avoid this one unless you really want to see the Chainsaw veterans in funny makeup. |

Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers (1988) Directed by Fred Olen Ray (Beverly Hills Vampire, Inferno), this is probably the best known TCM-related movie. Starring TCM's very own Gunnar Hansen (Leatherface) as The Stranger, this is quite a turn to the normal chainsaw wielding movie. This is about a cult of hookers that worship chainsaws; The Stranger is the leader of the cult. He has the women pick up guys and chop them up with a chainsaw while having sex with them. This comedy, although it attracts quite an audience, lacks class, but it's entertaining enough. Lots of T'n'A. If you like a little sex with your violence and a lot of cheese, pick this up. -Picture courtesy of Chappy Taylor. Thanks! |

Hotwire (1980) This film isn't anything special, but I bought it because Jim Siedow stars in it. I was disappointed to find that he's in the movie only about 14 seconds as a drunk old man who almost gets his car stolen. The sequence with him is quite cool, nonetheless. |

Idle Hands (1999) I actually haven't seen this movie, but in the preview, I saw all I need. Mick (Seth Green) grabs a kitchen gadget, puts it in the air, says, "I am Leatherface!" and proceeds to run with the gadget, but it unplugs. That's all. -BTW: This movie is a rip-off of Lucio Fulci's The Eroticist. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Kalfiornia (1993) Starring Brad Pitt and Juliette Lewis of Natural Born Killers fame, this movie is about two nice folks, that are writing a book on killers, driving to California. They pick up Pitt and Lewis to go with them. Little do they know that they're driving with real killers! Rick Balin supplied me with the following information: They stop at a Texas location where a "brutal murder" was commited to take pictures of a slaughter house complete with meathooks and yellow-tan butchers aprons hanging in the background. The name TCM is not actually said but all the references are there! As soon as I watch this movie again, I'll update this entry. Thanks Rick! |

Kiss Daddy Goodbye (1981) I bought this movie because Marilyn Burns (Sally) is in it. The film itself isn't too bad. It's about two phychic kids and their father gets killed. Burns is the children's teacher and she looks as good as ever! The film isn't anything special and it's more ironic than entertaining. Check it out if you wish. |

National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (1989) Clark Griswold (Chevy Chase) is pissed; as the garage door opens, we see a figure in a hockey mask... holding a chainsaw! He starts up the chainsaw in true Leatherface fashion! TCM is very subtle, as it's mixed with Friday the 13th. However, I recommend you see the movie anyhow; very funny. |

NEKRomantik (1987) This is not for most of you. This one of the sickest film of all time; coming from me, that means a lot! To make it short and sweet, it's a couple's romantic adventures with a dead body. Anyway, there is a scene where Rob (Daktari Lorenz) goes to watch a horror movie. In the movie, the sound is taken mostly from Lucio Fulci's Zombie and the rest is from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. I don't know why the makers of NEKRo haven't been sued for copyright violations, but that's the way it goes. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Poltergeist (1982) Aside from TCM, this is director Tobe Hooper's best known film. I'm sure just about all of you have seen it, but I'll tell you about it anyway. This is the story of an unknowing family that moves into a house that's coincidentally built on top of a graveyard, and the ghosts are pissed, to say the least. Although it's comprised of the most cliché ghost story elements in cinematic history, it's entertaining enough. Check it out if you haven't seen it yet. One more thing! William Vail (Kirk) makes a cameo appearance in this film! He is on the bill as the "Implosion Man". However, I can't tell you what scene he appears in because I haven't seen this film in such a long time! Email me if you know. -Thanks to Rick Balin |

Redneck Zombies (1987) Another Troma film... another Troma film about the downsides of nuclear waste. This film looks like it was literally filmed with a home video camera. It's about some rednecks that accidentally spill some nuclear waste into their brew, only before they distribute it all around the countryside. You can guess what happens from there. Anyway, there is a rather amusing parody of the Hitchhiker scene; only this hitchhiker shaves people at a barbershop. The scene pretty funny, but the movie isn't worth sitting though. Also, in the beginning of the film, a person is reading Fangoria magazine and Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 is the cover feature of the magazine. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Salem's Lot (1979) This film was actually a television miniseries based on Steven King's novel that takes place, of course, in the town of Salem in modern times. As you all know, the town is haunted by a vampire. The film is rather slow, but it's worth a look. Very atmospheric and rather clever twists, it's something that horror fans should see at least once. |

Terry said that "The killer dresses up in a silly version of LEATHERFACE and kills two kids! who are dressed like FREDDY and JASON!!" Terry was kind enough to make an mp3 sound clip from the film. Click here to download it. Thanks Terry! |

Summer School (1987) Thanks to Psycho Aleks (go to his web page) for the info on this movie. Here's what Aleks said: There is a movie called "Summer School" that is related to The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Two of the caracters in the movie are TCM fans and in one scene we see the class watch the ending of TCM. Thanks Aleks! |

Texas Chainsaw Massacre: A Family Portrait, The (1988) This is the original TCM documentary. It features interviews with Gunnar Hansen (Leatherface), Jim Siedow (Old Man), Edwin Neal (Hitchhiker) and John Dugan (Grandpa). Very informative and very well done, this is a must for all TCM fans. |

GOT A PICTURE? EMAIL ME! | The TV Dead (????) Thanks to Terry "Cannibal Couch" Rice (go to his Bill Mosely site) for the info on this movie. Here's what Terry said: There is a cheezy old Low budget horror film called THE TV DEAD in which ZOMBIES come out of an old horror movie to kill people!! One scene this kid is supposed to cut a zombie up and the other person with him says you sure you can do this! the kid revs up his chainsaw and says! come on "I've seen TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE a thousand times" and cuts the zombie in half!! |

Windsplitter, The (1971) This is the ever-famous, never-seen-film whos name goes hand in hand with TCM. Both Tobe Hooper and Jim Siedow starred in this film although the two didn't actually meet. Later, Jim got a call from Tobe saying how much he liked his work and Tobe offered the part in Chainsaw. (Read my Jim Siedow interview for more information.) All I know about this film I learned from various interviews. In the film, Jim Siedow is the father of a rebellious boy in a conservative town. The boy leaves and comes back with long hair and such. The town hates him and he occasionally gets beat up by three "roughnecks", one of which was Tobe Hooper. If you ever find this film, please email me and let me know. Thanks. |
