The author of "The Cat Who..." series is Lillian Jackson Brown. The stories centers on a middle age newspaper reporter, with a full head of hair and a salt and pepper mustache, who ends up in a town "400 miles north of everywhere".
There he joins up with 2 Siamese cats who have uncanny ways to lead Qwill, as the man's called, to solve mysteries in the town and surrounding communities.

YES, THAT'S RIGHT, THE MAN ACTUALLY SOLVES THE MYSTERIES. THE CATS ARE JUST BEING CATS!

Qwill and the cats Koko and Yum Yum meet interesting people, go many different places, and get themselves in many different circumstances. They enjoy fine food, good entertainment, and help solve problems their friends get themselves into in every book.

You get to know each character in every book, some you see over and over. And some of the unfortunate ones, YOU DON"T...

The author also gives you history lessons not only about the people of the county, but also of the land itself. Like I know, Moose county was a mining town. People made millions in the early 1900's.
And Qwill's "Aunt Fanny", which is actually just his mom's best friend, leaves him her families money and properties, which all overwhelms Qwill.
So he sets up a fund with the money that is used to give back to the community.
Of course, him and the cats get to live the high life on some of it too!

Now that I finally have the whole series, I plan to go back and read them in order. I think it will be interesting to see each character grow. To see where each person fits into Qwill and the cats lives. Why some are favorites to KoKo and why some are definatly NOT...

I highly recommend these books, if you can't tell. Each one is a part that I look forward to. I like when your imagination lets you really get to know and care for characters. And being a cat lover, it wasn't hard with this series.
