OUR CHOW SHEBA
Owning a chow or any at risk breed is a major responsibility. Here I will share  a little about life with Sheba. She is wonderful, yet a handful because how intellegent she is.

June 1997, We had just lost our little dog "pooder". We decided to get a dog TOTALLY different from a 2 pound miniture chahuahau. So I seen an ad in the paper for Chow puppies. We called, they had 4 puppies. We hung up the phone, drove there, they had 3 puppies.

There were 2 black puppies in the backyard playing with the mom, and there sitting in the driveway was the prettiest lil girl you ever saw!!!
We went up to her, she remained calm, I picked her right up. We talked to the lady about chows. And then we left. I wanted to name her "She-Ra, Keith said no. So we agreed on Sheba.
"I kiss you mommy". She always wins at this game!!
Sheba is very smart. You can actually see her thinking.

We can get her to do this without a treat even!

She was also basically potty trained the first nite we brought her home. I SWEAR!!!

CHOW CHOW WELFARE
The most important thing I can say about owning a breed like the chow........Socialize, Socialize, Socialize!!!!
Sheba has been in every kind of situation we can get her into. From a steel shop, to the family reunion, and even to Grama's house. She is very friendly. And very stubborn!

Chow's protect their people, not necessarily their territory. I have noticed that Sheba needs to go in front of you always. She will knock you over to be the first out the door to check the place out.

That's ok though, she is great.

Mommy loves ya, diva....
