CRIMSON GUARDS SPECIALTY: Cobra Elite troopers 1ST APPEARANCE: G.I.JOE: REVENGE OF COBRA The CRIMSON GUARDS are elite troopers whose main function is to infiltrate a target in civilian disguise then at the right time strike. They also serve as guards for bases such as the TERROR DROME. The CRIMSON GUARDS were first used to guard Cobra Temple during the battle over the WEATHER DOMINATOR. Afterwards, they were placed under the supervision of TOMAX & XAMOT who became known as the Crimson Twins. A CRIMSON GUARDSMAN infiltrated a lab and stole a sample of a germ. When he arrived at the base, he was told by the Crimson Twins to bring the germ sample to them. He got into a firefight and the germ reacted with some other chemicals and mutated. The germ grew to enormous size and the trooper was swallowed by it. He tried to escape by fighting the Joe AIR-TIGHT when the latter entered the germ to destroy it. The Joe convinced him to surrender. CRIMSON GUARDS kidnapped SHIPWRECK'S cousin Jesse and QUICK-KICK'S parents during the BARONESS'S plan to use members of the Joe team's families against them. Another member of the CRIMSON GUARD was arrested when he tried to hide out from the police in a greenhouse. He left inside a bottle of gas that broke and mutated the vegtables within the greenhouse and caused them to grow to giant size. The twins use this to create havoc by bombing a city with giant produce. The Joes put a stop to this. Two years later, legions of CRIMSON GUARD defended the TERROR DROME when PYTHONA broke in. Several of them were injured severly when they came in contact with PYTHONA and her exotic weaponry. One of them stayed in a computer room and helped corrdinate defense and lock down. (Note: Several CRIMSON GUARD using the codename "Fred" played vital roles in the Marvel GIJoe comic book. One had ties to SNAKE-EYES and STALKER.
