In the past few years several countries has implemented laws making it illegal for law abiding citizens to own firearms. These countries reasons behind this drastic measure were to stop the violent crimes from happening. The only thing this law accomplished was to stop honest people from possessing firearms. The criminals can still get firearms as easily now as before. It did not matter to these other countries that a lot of the weapons was antiques or held sentimental value to the owners. The firearms were taken and melted down with little regard the how the owners felt.
The United States of America is one of the last countries in the world where law-abiding citizens have the right to own firearms. Along with the NRA and the American Civil Rights Union who are fighting diligently to uphold our constitutional rights to Keep and Bear Arms. "Our constitutional wisely protects the right of the people to keep andbear arms. This is necessary for individuals to exercise the basic moral right of self-defense."
The Justice Department is letting violent criminals roam our streets then using their actions to push the anti-gun control. I know of people in prison right now who are serving more time for writing bad checks than the man that was convicted of murdering Karen Styles in Bent Creek, North Carolina. WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE? If we continue to sit back and do nothing we WILL lose our constitutional right to bear arms. When this happens it will then be to late to fight back.
This will only be the beginning, if they take this freedom away what will be next...our rights to freedom of speech which is written as follows: " Congress shall make no law...abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press, or of the people to assemble peaceably, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances." They are attempting to repress this freedom now. What about freedom of religion, which in short is as follows: "All Americans should be free to express their religious views in all public forums as well as private venues. Moreover, they should not be excluded from public activities or programs on the basis of their religious activities, but must be allowed to participate on the same equal terms as everyone else." Which is already beginning to be changed by the government, for example the right to express your religious beliefs in school. Children are no longer allowed to carry a bible or to pray in school.
