Lawyer's Letter AMCB Owes Me Money Guarantees (Scanned Pics) |
I am a layman and
had very little education. After my GCE examination, I joined my school
teacher to do some community work while looking for a job.
That was the time I joined a political party, the only political party I joined since then. I did my duties, literally fight during the GE, and mixing around with people from 'diverse background'. I left the political party about 1977 to pursue my career. My memories linger on until today, but it is never the same again... I went on to work for several companies, most of the time with lower pay to start with, a sacrifice for my thirst for learning and experience. In the mid eighties, I had the opportunity to build a business of my own, an outsourcing contract manufacturing outfit, I did quite well, started off with a loan of $1,000 from my family members. I ventured out of my comfort zones and went regional in the early nineties, but alas, it was full of dangers with international crooks and conmen awaiting to pounce on unsuspecting foreign victims. No, they can't touch me, I was good enough to protect myself. My principle was, walk away immediately when you sense something was wrong with a business venture, be prepared to cut losses. I won most of the time. But somehow I got myself caught unprepared in 1997, the Asian Financial Crisis washed away almost everything I had built over 15 years of honest and hard work. I paid all my debts and live a life of a common folk, no more cars and etc. I picked myself up, did a self training program in IT, and survived from hand to mouth on odd jobs and providing tuitions. It is not easy with three children on board and I am grateful to my family who had supported me during the bad times. I had traveled almost half the World, working and on business trips. I never knew Singapore, my Country well as most of my time was spent overseas. That was the past. I cherished those memories when success and money was aplenty, made in foreign countries. Life has to go on despite the rough patches that come along rather frequently. Many of my friends had died in that crisis. No more tears, the well had dried up long ago. The Suit 917 of 1995 - Summary I was accused of signing three guarantees with Arab Malaysian Credits Berhad located in Johor Bahru on three occasions in 1995. At that time I was residing in Indonesia and traveled frequently. The first Judgment obtained from the High Court of Singapore was dated 6th July 1995 for default in appearance, and without my knowledge. My solicitors Koh & Teo (defunct) whose lawyer Mr. Teo Keng Siang represented me against Mr. Choy Chee Yean (Wong Tan & Molly Lim) for the plaintiff, Arab Malaysian Credit Berhad. See copy of this Judgment - Click Here My application to set aside this Judgment was granted by the Court on 1 December 1995 without calling for my appearance. My solicitors told me there were no further actions from Wong Tan & Molly Lim and Mr. Teo said the same thing again when I met him sometimes in 1999 and in his office about March 2001. See copy of the Court's Order - Click Here About December 1995, I obtained a copy of the Malaysian Court Order, another Judgment against me for the same matter, same case for default in appearance! See copy of this Judgment - Click Here Wong Tan & Molly Lim, whose lawyers, Mr. Philp Ling and Roland Tong appeared in 2001 claiming for the Judgment dated 6th July 1995 (first). When informed it was set aside on 1 December 1995, they claimed for the Judgment dated 9 December 1995, also for default in appearance! See copy of this Judgment - Click Here See Wong Tan & Molly Lim's letter telling me that they "have withdrawn" the statutory demand for the Judgment dated 6th July 1995, replacement - a new statutory demand for a standby Judgment dated 9th December 1995! - Click Here Two valid Judgments for one case, one matter for default in appearance! Click Here To See Evidence I located my ex solicitor, Mr. Teo, he sunk into his chair after checking the old files and confirmed that there were two Judgments for my Suit 917 0f 1995, both orally and in writing. Arab Malaysian Credit Berhad, a leading financial institution in Malaysia, alleged that I signed one of the three Guarantees on 4 August 1991, A Sunday - an official banking holiday, while I was not in Malaysia (documentary evidence was submitted to my solicitors.) An important bank document dated on a Sunday and the witness Mr. Desmond Lim opened the office for that purpose - of forgery.
