| Background :: Even though this is only eVonne's debut album, her popularity is soaring in Taiwan, with her album selling very well in Taiwan, passing the 150 000 mark. :: :: eVonne Hsu has been touted to be the next Jolin Tsai, with her pretty-good-looks. However, I feel that her vocals are even more powerful than Jolin's. Review Seriously speaking, I am VERY impressed with eVonne Hsu. Even though she is just a newcomer to the music scene, her vocal prowess does not pale in comparison as compared to other more experienced singers. Her strong vocals are well showcased of in her fast tracks, especially in her first hit <<Happiness As Main Point>>. However, there is still room for improvement in her slow ballads. For example, she sounded very raw in songs like <<Let You Go>> and <<Don't Come Back To Me>>. Even though this is so, <<Winter Day Of Two People>> sounded great under her singing, despite the poor, boring melody. The sad thing is that HALF of her album is made up of cover tracks, while the other half is of original tracks. Songs like <<Happiness As Main Point>>, <<Antibodies of Love>>, <<Temporary Alone>>, <<First To Look For You>> and <<All About Us>> are covers... For this album, quite a number of renowned lyricists/composers contributed for it. For one, Fang Wenshan's lyrics for <<Happiness As Main Point>> and Lin Xi's lyrics for <<Temporary Alone>> live up to their reputations as good lyricists in the music scene. Taiwan Hit Awards newcomer nominee Peggy Hsu's <<Lipstick and Fingernail Oil>> is one of the most outstanding tracks in the album, even though <<Don't Come Back To Me>> pales in comparison with her other compositions. With the wide range of songs in eVonne's debut album, and her being a newcomer with both looks and vocals, she who majored in psychology in University looks set to take the music scene by storm.
